Mechanix Wear ColdWork Guide Tactical Gloves Black/Grey

Winter gloves in Black/Grey color equipped with advanced PrimaLoft Gold insulation. Designed for use in low temperatures, they effectively protect against cold while safeguarding hands from abrasions and cuts. Their precise fit ensures full grip control. This model is ideal for survival expeditions, automotive workshop tasks, DIY projects, ASG, and paintball games.

Durable softshell, PrimaLoft Gold insulation

The glove construction is based on lightweight fleece. The back of the hand is covered with softshell material, which is wind and moisture-resistant, preventing cold air from penetrating inside the gloves. The palm side is also made of waterproof material.

Synthetic insulation effectively isolates and provides thermal comfort in harsh weather conditions. The back of the hand is heated by PrimaLoft 40g Gold insulation, while the working side features PrimaLoft 60g Gold insulation.

Touchscreen compatibility

The palm design allows for touchscreen device operation without removing the gloves.

Wide, elastic cuffs, snap buckle

The model features a wide entry opening for quick and easy glove application. Elastic cuffs ensure a snug fit around the wrist. An additional advantage is the snap buckle that allows the gloves to be clipped together, making them easier to carry and store.

EN388-3222X and EN511 21X Standards

The gloves meet the EN388 protective standard at level 3222X in terms of resistance to mechanical hazards, which means:

  • 3: abrasion resistance (on a scale of 0–4)
  • 2: cut resistance (on a scale of 0–5)
  • 2: tear resistance (on a scale of 0–4)
  • 2: puncture resistance (on a scale of 0–4)
  • X: cut resistance – TDM test (ISO 13997) (on a scale of A–F)

Cold protection complies with the EN511 standard at level 21X, which means:

  • 2: resistance to cold air penetration (on a scale of 0–4)
  • 1: resistance to contact cold (on a scale of 0–4)
  • X: water penetration resistance (0 or 1)

The scales specified in the EN388 and EN511 standards define the level of glove protection: a value of 0 indicates no protection, while the highest values (4, 5) indicate the maximum level of resistance. In the case of water penetration resistance, 0 indicates penetration and 1 indicates no penetration.

In the TDM (ISO 13997) test method, letter markings are used, where A indicates the lowest level of protectionand F the highest.

The X marking indicates that a given parameter was not tested or is not applicable.

I wore them for the third time and they're already falling apart... Yesterday, when I was coming back from work, it was around zero and they weren't very warm. If I had known, I would have spent that 100 PLN differently.

If my hands are cold in these gloves for 130 PLN when the temperature is -1 degrees Celsius, with no wind and no snow, then one might feel cheated. I do not recommend them.

Was my previous opinion deleted? Unfortunately, the description is misleading, the gloves are not waterproof. The material between the fingers of the gloves is made of ordinary permeable material. Putting the gloves in the snow makes them completely wet within seconds. For this price and the lack of waterproofness, it's a big minus.

    Warm and sturdy.

The gloves performed very well. When working in the snow, they kept warmth long enough at -15°C. Operating a touch screen is difficult due to the thickness. After two tough months, unfortunately, they retired, but the number of layers effectively extended their durability. The downside, however, was the seams at the leather joins. Certainly not recommended for work with constant friction.

They worked very well during snow removal on a freezing morning. Plus, you can use a smartphone while wearing them. I recommend.

Very comfortable to wear. They allow you to move your fingers quite freely as they are not overly stiff, even though the inner part is made of leather-like material. The cuff is wide and comfortable, but at the same time you can easily put it under your jacket sleeve. Super comfortable and pleasant-to-touch inner insulation. I recommend.

I honestly recommend them. The gloves are very comfortable and warm enough for cold days. There is enough space at the wrist so they do not interfere with wearing a watch.

Really good gloves, their main advantage is the warmth you feel while wearing them. Perfect for the winter season, the reinforcements at the base of the hand are useful. The only drawback is that the gloves get wet on parts where only fleece is used.

Warm and durable gloves. I recommend.

The gloves are warm and seem very sturdy, but the waterproof information is not particularly true. There is indeed waterproof material on the palm side, but the material between the fingers is ordinary softshell, which soaks up water. I bought the gloves after speaking with a store advisor, planning to use them also for skiing. Unfortunately, after a few intense runs, the gloves were completely soaked :/ For this price and the information about being waterproof, that's a big minus.
