A collimator for firearms (otherwise known as a collimator sight) is a type of optical sight, which, using the phenomenon of collimation, makes it possible to target quickly and accurately. The collimator is based on an uncomplicated electronic circuit and can successfully replace traditional targeting instruments (a bow-tie and a scimitar). The use of a collimator on a weapon positively affects the accuracy of shots fired. These devices were used as early as the 1960s and are still very popular today - especially in line troops and special services.

The collimator for firearms allows simultaneous observation of the target and the surroundings by the shooter. The beam of light is projected parallel to the axis of the barrel, making this device one of the most effective sights at short and medium distances (from a few to several hundred meters). Military collimators mainly come in two types: open and closed. An open collimator is an optical device with a very simple structure, consisting of a diode, a frame and a glass (on which the aiming point is displayed). When using an open collimator, the field of view is larger than that of a closed collimator. It is also lighter and smaller than the closed model - it will work well as a collimator for a rifle. In a closed collimator all the components are inside a closed tube. Thanks to such a design, it is possible to use other additional optics (like magnifying devices). The advantage of closed collimators is the possibility of trouble-free aiming even in full sunlight. Its design resembles a telescope.

When choosing a particular model of collimator for firearms, it is worth paying attention to the type and type of mounting. In our store there are products with weaver, 11mm or base mounts. You can choose integrated mounting, interchangeable bases or clamps. In addition, in our offer you will also find collimators with several colors of the aiming mark, such as red, gold or green. It is also worth noting the possibility of adjusting the aiming mark, which can be smooth or gradual.

The use of collimators gives the advantage of faster and more accurate firing. In addition, a big advantage of them is the simplicity of operation. They eliminate the problem of lengthy calibration of the bow tie and the pinniped. Another of their advantages is that the position of the pointer does not change when looking at it from a different angle. Regardless of the shooting activity undertaken, it is worth using these devices so that the shots fired are accurate and the reaction time of the shooter is reduced. We encourage you to browse the wide range of collimators in the Militaria.pl store, which includes collimators for rifles or collimators for shotguns.
