Scout mess kits are portable sets of dishes designed for cooking and eating meals in field conditions. They usually consist of two or three elements that can be nested together, saving space in a backpack. The lid of a mess kit often has an additional function — it can serve as a frying pan or a plate.

Which mess kit to choose for camp?

If you are looking for a scout mess kit for camp, it is worth paying attention to a few issues:

  • Material — the market offers both plastic and metal scout mess kits. The best choice is usually mess kits made of stainless steel. This material allows for cooking directly over a fire without the risk of damaging the vessels due to high temperatures.
  • Number of elements — mess kits can have from one to several parts — the more elements, the greater the functionality. For a classic camp, a 2- or 3-piece set is usually sufficient.
  • Handle — it is worth choosing a mess kit that has foldable or insulated handles, which facilitate cooking and removing the vessel from the fire.

Scout mess kits available at Militaria.pl

At Militaria.pl, we offer scout mess kits for children and others from brands such as Badger Outdoor, Helikon-Tex, Mil-Tec, and Texar. The mess kits are available in 2-, 3-, 4-, and even 5-piece versions, depending on the model and user needs.

Many of the mess kits are made from stainless steel, which is resistant to corrosion and mechanical damage. These properties make them ideal for tough scout conditions, where equipment needs to withstand intensive use in the field. Stainless steel is also easy to clean, which is very important during camping and camps, where access to water may be limited.
