Flyers jackets, also known in Poland as "flek jackets" or, for example, "flejers", are a reference to US flight jackets. These are short, unbreathable jackets for cool weather modeled after the jackets of American pilots. They look good with both jeans and wide military pants. Despite the passage of many years, they still have a large following and are valued around the world. Samuel Gelber founded Alpha Industries in 1959, and it is thanks to this brand that flyers jackets have become so popular among ordinary consumers. The design resulting from cooperation with the military, intended to meet the needs of pilots, is eventually worn by a much wider range of users.
The classic representative of flek jackets is the MA-1 model. Such a flyers jacket is appreciated by lovers of military style, and at the same time provides thermal comfort even in adverse weather conditions. Very distinctive is the ability to wear the jacket on the other, orange side, which has to do with the original purpose of MA-1 jackets for pilots. In an emergency situation, such orange lining increases the chances of being spotted by search services.
