Backpacks are designed to carry equipment on the back. Their design means that we can carry essentials comfortably, leaving both hands free. The weight distributed evenly on the shoulders does not burden us as much as that carried in a bag, for example. For this reason, we use backpacks every day in the city, as well as in tourism. Large hiking backpacks are often equipped with a frame, which helps distribute the weight evenly over the entire surface of the back. Some models are additionally equipped with hip belts and chest straps, which relieve pressure on the back, transferring part of the load to the back and hips.
We can divide backpacks by capacity, usually specified in liters. City backpacks are small backpacks with a capacity of up to 30 liters. They are most often used for everyday carrying of equipment in the city and on short trips. Very often used by students as school bags. Excursion backpacks are designed for trips of several days, usually with a capacity of 30 to 50 liters. Depending on the model, they are sometimes equipped with a rigid frame and mesh side pockets that can hold a water bottle or rain poncho. Hiking and expedition backpacks are defined as large backpacks that comfortably carry a lot of gear, with a large number of side pockets and trousers. Hiking backpacks have a capacity of 40 to 90 liters, expedition backpacks from about 85 to over 120 liters. Both types are usually made of durable materials, such as cordura, have frames and strong and wide hip and chest straps.
Backpack manufacturers also take care of people who need specialized equipment, creating backpacks designed for a specific audience: climbing backpacks, camelbak backpacks (which have a flexible insert for water along with a drinking tube), military-tactical backpacks or backpacks designed for bicycle couriers. We offer a wide selection of backpacks from leading manufacturers such as Helikon-Tex, Wisport, Pentagon, 5.11, Fjord Nansen, Pacsafe, Coleman, First Tactical, Badger Outdoor and Pentagon. The wide range of colors offered by backpack manufacturers and the many capacities available make it easy to choose a backpack to suit our needs and tastes.
