One of the most recognizable gun companies is Walther. As they expanded their product line, they began to offer additional assortments, including tactical tooling. In such a section, of course, Walther folding knives could not be absent. With a very long presence on the market and an already firmly established brand, there was no problem with the warm reception of their additional products. The Walther company itself was founded in 1886 as Carl Walther GmbH. The German manufacturer in the early days offered firearms and to this day even the Polish police use the P99 model. Also, those who are not interested in the topic of weapons themselves, probably had the opportunity to notice Walther's PPK model in the hands of the famous agent James Bond.
Taking advantage of brand recognition, the German company decided to make their products available to civilian users as well. Walther folding knives have been added to the offer as a complement to the tactical range. The range of tools produced by Walther focuses on versatility and affordable solutions and prices. In their products you will mostly be able to meet popular steels like 440C, AUS-8 or 12C27. Each of these steels is characterized by good corrosion resistance and a good ratio of holding sharpness to ease of resharpening. The 440 grade and AUS grade steels are very similar steels in terms of chemical composition, the main difference being the place of origin and the addition of vanadium to the AUS steel, which makes it have slightly better abrasion resistance. The 12C27 steel is a Swedish steel also known as Sandvik, and has very good anti-corrosion properties. For discerning customers, there are models with D2 tool steel, which is known as semi-neutral steel, is very resistant to abrasion and cuts very aggressively. The German manufacturer also took care of high-end safety features of folding knives, which guarantees us adequate comfort and safety when using their products. Two, probably the most popular solutions that Walther folding knives have are liner lock or back lock. Liner lock is one of the most commonly used locks in all knives manufactured today. Back lock, on the other hand, is considered one of the oldest mechanisms used in folding knives.
To appeal to the tastes of a very diverse audience, in the knives of the German manufacturer you will find models with both classic wooden handles and more modern polymers. The undoubted advantage of handles made of wood is their pleasant texture to the touch and classic form. However, you have to reckon with the slightly weaker resistance of wood to moisture and take into account the need for regular maintenance of wood if you want to keep it in good shape. Polymers or laminates will be a bit more practical for those who will use their blade very intensively in the field. To such materials, moisture or dirt and other moderately favorable environmental conditions do not pose problems in preserving all their properties. An exception among folding knives is the inclusion of holsters by the manufacturer. Of course, not every model will come with a holster, but a very large number have one included. In the case of models with a slightly more modern design, with facings made of laminate or polymer, the holster will be fabric. For classic models with wood, you will most often get an equally classic leather holster. We have a wide selection of folding knives, including from the German company Walther. When looking for a blade for yourself, we encourage you to take a look at the models available in our Militaria.pl store, where, thanks to the diverse offer, everyone will find a model that meets their expectations.
