8Cr13MoV (8Cr13) is a Chinese stainless steel equivalent to Japanese AUS-8 steel. It offers a good balance between corrosion resistance, ease of sharpening, and edge retention. The carbon content (approximately 0.8%) affects the hardness of the steel, while chromium (13%) provides very good corrosion and abrasion resistance. Additions of molybdenum (0.3%), vanadium (up to 0.2%), manganese (0.5%), and silicon (0.4%) improve abrasion resistance and the stability of the steel structure. 8Cr13MoV is often used in the production of knives, including by companies such as Spyderco and Benchmade, which manufacture in China. A small knife, quite dainty, with a blade made of sufficiently good and sharp steel. It lacks the option of attaching the sheath to a belt from the factory, but that's typical for a "neck" knife. I can confidently recommend it!
