Very sharp, comfortable, but requires securing. It is definitely a good idea to tie a line, e.g., a parachute cord through the handle loop. I once saw a situation where someone managed to take off the handle from a similar machete of this manufacturer during a very tough test meant to break the tool, and the blade simply shot forward after really heavy abuse. I assume this is a full-tang blade and the cord would secure it in case the blade accidentally slips out of the rubber, so it won’t fly at someone in front during a swing. Out of the box, everything fits as it should, but who knows how it will hold up after years in freezing and hot temperatures—it might just pop out because the pins are half-length and not full-length.
