A very comfortable jacket, or maybe more of a sweatshirt. On warmer days, it's definitely too warm, so it's worth having a thin windstopper. Maskpol should rethink their sizing because the sleeves are too short.
Maskpol Softshell Jacket SM-01 - MAPA
Contemporary tactical jacket crafted from Softshell fabric, featuring panels of military-grade material in MAPA camouflage. The SM-01 jacket excels in survival scenarios, outdoor recreation, tourism, and ASG activities. While designed for civilian enthusiasts, the jacket is also highly regarded by professionals in uniformed services. Thanks to its multi-layered construction, the jacket delivers reliable protection against wind and rain, eliminating the need for extra insulating layers.
Durable polyester laminate, PTFE teflon membrane, Rip-Stop weave
The Softshell is crafted using a three-layer polyester laminate composed of:
- an external, weather-resistant, impregnated knit fabric
- a central PTFE teflon membrane
- an internal insulating fleece layer
Areas such as the elbows, shoulders, and drawstring tunnel are reinforced with US-23 military-grade material — a robust 50/50 blend of soft cotton and polyester. The inclusion of Rip-Stop weaving ensures the fabric remains exceptionally durable and highly resistant to abrasion and tearing.
3 practical pockets
Designed with 3 functional pockets, the jacket features two large side compartments and a compact chest pocket, all secured with zippers. Each pocket is lined with a breathable mesh fabric.
cuffs with elastic trim, drawstring with stopper
Sleeve ends feature elastic trim, while the bottom hem is fitted with an elastic drawstring and stopper, enabling width adjustment for a customized fit and effective protection against wind penetration.
Zipper
Secured with a durable one-way zipper, the design features a closure that extends into a high collar equipped with chin protection. Enhanced ventilation openings under the arms provide superior thermal regulation.
velcro panels
Each sleeve is equipped with 2 large velcro panels (hook and loop), providing secure attachment points for a range of emblems such as insignias, national flags, unit badges, or so-called Morale Patches. A velcro area for a nametag is positioned on the right chest.

MAPA camouflage
The MAPA camouflage pattern was created by Maciej Dojlitko, who is both a graduate and current researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, and the author of works such as Theory of Deconstruction of the Visual Message. Tools for designing military camouflage (Gdańsk 2015). Developed with innovative concepts, substantiated by extensive theoretical and practical research—such as computer analysis of thousands of terrain images—this design quickly drew the interest of specialists and military apparel producers. In 2017, the MAPA camouflage made its first appearance at the International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce, serving as the camouflage pattern for the Dromader uniform and equipment line by Maskpol, which is part of the Polish Armaments Group. Although initially designed for the Territorial Defence Forces, the MAPA camouflage was also evaluated as a possible future standard for the entire Polish Armed Forces, possibly replacing the wz.93 pattern. Despite its promising reception, the MAPA camouflage has yet to become the official uniform pattern of the Polish military.
Main features of the MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant:
- 6 distinct colors arranged in layers reminiscent of map contour lines
- color palette specifically adjusted for Central European woodland environments
- integration of a three-dimensional illusion and anamorphic visual effect
- organic, biomorphic forms that imitate natural vegetation
- high-contrast details simulating flashes of light and shadow effects
- deformation of the wearer’s outline through the use of a macro pattern
- fine-grained color noise generated by a micro pattern
The MAPA pattern stands out as a compelling alternative to leading modern camouflage solutions like PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn, and the Finnish M/05. In certain respects, the pattern surpasses these, more accurately replicating colors naturally present in Central European forests from late spring through early autumn.

Perfect for autumn's cold winds. Because it is not drafty, you don't get cold in it. In winter, if you add a fleece, it is also comfortable. It's great that you can buy it in MAPA :)

A very well-made softshell jacket. I have been using it for some time and I am very satisfied. The jacket is very warm. The MAPA camouflage looks much better in real life than in the photos. I recommend it.

Overall, the jacket, or rather the sweatshirt, is flawlessly made. Good material and nice camouflage. It's quite thin, so on colder days it's good to have a warm fleece underneath. One star less for too few pockets (in my opinion). For me, pockets on the shoulders and at least one on the forearm would be useful. I think it would also improve its appearance.

Very nice jacket. It's perfect for autumn and winter. It protects well against the wind. There's just a problem with the sizing, because they are a bit smaller than expected.
-
It's more of a sweatshirt than a jacket, excellently crafted, I took a size smaller than I usually wear and it fits perfectly. If it were cheaper, I would buy two—a smaller one as a sweatshirt and a larger one as a jacket to wear something thicker underneath, but unfortunately, I can't afford to buy two of these sweatshirts.
-
Perfect for winter with a hoodie and thermal shirt. It's just a shame that the jacket isn't fully camouflaged.
-
Nice camouflage, the jacket is warm, but I would rather call it a fleece. I recommend size XS, which fits 158cm.
-
It's hard to call it a jacket or softshell; I would rather say it is a fleece. As for the size S, it's a bit too wide, but the sleeves are fine. It's comfortable and nice to run in, so I recommend it.
-
The jacket is fantastic. Warm and breathable. Ventilation openings under the armpits. Nice color and camouflage. The size is correct. Velcro on the shoulders for patches. I recommend it.

Whenever I ordered clothing products from Maskpol, I was worried that I would not choose the right size. When reading the provided charts, you get the impression that the clothes are too tight for the given size... and here I want to reassure future buyers. Example: I ordered this jacket in size M. The chart shows 100 under the arms, but in reality it's about 112, so there's a little room. Just perfect for comfortable wearing with a 100cm chest circumference.
