On the internet, you can find videos and various instructions on how to use the strap, so it's a matter of taste and convenience. I wear long and rather thick socks with high boots, fasten the strap above the upper, and tuck in enough of the pant leg under the strap so that when sitting, the pants fully cover my leg all the way to the shoe. When I walk, the pants naturally fall onto the upper part of the boot, providing protection from unwanted debris getting into the boot from above.

They hold the pant leg well, and the hooks do not detach by themselves. They don't dig into your leg when you put them on over the sock above the boot upper. After several hikes, there are no signs of wear.

Good straps for a low price. The only downside is the rather sharp ends of the hooks, which caused a few small scratches on the shoe leather when tucking in the pant legs.

Good quality, durable and doesn't squeeze, I recommend it.

Very useful and very well made, they will definitely last a long time.

From some previous comments, you can conclude that buyers don't really know how to use these straps: - Fasten the strap on the boot, - The pant leg hangs freely and covers the strap, - Tuck the bottom of the pant leg INSIDE under the strap. Overall, the product is worth its price. I give 4 stars because the hook ends are quite sharp – they may cause wear on the pant legs.
