I've been using it for a long time and recommend it, not just for air rifles. Personally, I use it most often to coat carbon steel knives or multitools that I use at work and would probably be eaten away by rust otherwise... Besides, I have the impression that a layer of this lubricant adheres to the surface better and is harder to wipe off than silicone grease.
