Collimator sights, also known as quick-dot, red dot or simply collimators, are simple and usually very lightweight optical devices for quick target tracking. Since they do not have magnification, they are completely free of the classic disadvantages: parallax error, eye distance and do not require closing the other eye. For this reason, they are safer to use, especially for other team members, as they do not restrict the field of view. The collimators on offer are battery-powered and, in addition to the basic models offering a "fast dot", also have the ability to adjust the intensity of the spot brightness, select the aiming mark and sometimes its color.
Collimator optical sights achieve a low-divergence light beam by exploiting the phenomenon of collimation. The history of this type of optical sights dates back to 1900, when Irish designer and telescope maker Howard Grubb obtained his patent for a gun sight. It was an alternative to a telescope and difficult to align with each other - open instruments. It eliminated the restriction of the field of view imposed by the scope, sped up aiming, and eliminated parallax error. Collimator sights are now used on every battlefield. They are part of the HUD in fighter cockpits, mounted on machine guns, artillery, assault rifles, submachine guns and even on combat rifles. You will also meet collimators mounted on self-repeating pistols and on revolvers. They can be found both at the shooting range, used for sporting purposes, and during ASG (Air Soft Gun) games, installed on replica firearms, firing six-millimeter plastic balls. The collimator gives you an advantage at close and medium distances, allowing you to fire faster at your opponent. In addition to battlefield tactics, ASG collimators will also work well in IPSC practical shooting competitions, where speed matters and that's what you get points for. Aiming with collimator sights is fast, easy and extremely intuitive. It resembles aiming with a laser, but eliminates the problem of the opponent seeing the red dot, since it is displayed only to the shooter. ASG collimators are installed on most designs on an overhead mounting rail of the R.I.S. type, also known as weaver or picatinny. If your weapon or replica does not have a top mounting rail, check if it is possible to purchase a special adapter. We have such devices in our offer in a separate category.
Collimator sights are a great gift idea for an airsoft enthusiast. It will give your replica a unique character, allow you to personalize your pistol or rifle and add an extra atmosphere during ASG gameplay. On top of that, it will significantly increase the advantage during play, enabling faster aiming - the main task of ASG collimators. They will also prove excellent for CQB style combat, i.e. for fighting in enclosed spaces. In our wide range of ASG collimators you will find products from the world's best manufacturers of optical equipment. We offer optics from the German company Steiner, which started its activity in 1947 and since 2008 has been part of the Berretta Holding Group. In this category you will also find the Burris brand based on more than fifty years of experience in designing and creating extremely durable optics. In addition, we have excellent quality sights from the renowned optics manufacturer Holosun. In addition to the aforementioned companies, collimators and magnifiers (a combination of a collimator and a spotting scope, the device has a magnification) of the world-famous Bushnell and Hawke brands are also available. The first is based in the United States and dominates the optical sight market there. The second is a British company that has a loyal customer base on every continent. If you have a smaller budget, we recommend a replica collimator, which, although it won't help in aiming, will significantly change the appearance of your carbine or ASG submachine gun. In this category you will also find optics covers and adapters. Whether you are an experienced shooting competitor or just beginning your adventure with guns or their replicas, be sure to check out our range of collimator sights.
