Kubotan is a short self-defense tool in the form of a baton. It was developed by Takayuki Kubota from whom the name of this self-defense accessory is derived. Takayuki Kubota also developed a way to fight using the kubotan. The advantages of this weapon include its small size, which translates into ease of carrying it with you on a daily basis. Kubotan will fit in a backpack or, for example, in a trouser pocket, but it is also worth noting the fact that it can successfully function as a key ring and not attract too much attention.
Cubotans come in a variety of forms and can be both keychains and, for example, imitate pens. The user in possession of such a pen cubotan carries an everyday item, which can additionally serve a defensive function.
