Thermal jacket and thermal jacket are terms that are often used interchangeably. In practice, however, they refer to products with different characteristics and properties. The main task of a thermal jacket is to protect you from getting cold. Such models often have insulation that provides the body with thermal comfort. Thermoactive jackets, on the other hand, are products that, by design, are designed to protect against inclement weather (not necessarily against cold), while at the same time wicking away excess moisture produced by the human body during exercise. In this way, men's and women's thermoactive jackets prevent or delay the onset of the feeling of overheating that can occur during physically demanding activities.
Thermoactive jackets is a rather broad term with which to describe various types of outerwear. Their common feature, however, is breathability. Softshell models and jackets with a membrane are very popular among users. Softshell jackets primarily protect against wind, and their biggest advantage is very effective moisture wicking. Therefore, they are often used by people who practice sports in the autumn and winter. On the other hand, a jacket with a membrane, or so-called hardshell, is a model that provides protection against both wind and water. As a rule, membrane jackets breathe less well than softshell jackets, but provide a higher degree of protection.
A specific category of products are thermoactive winter jackets. These are models that may or may not be equipped with insulation. In this category we can include, for example, breathable ski jackets, jackets with a three-layer membrane with a high degree of water resistance, or jackets with vapor-permeable synthetic down. Men's thermal winter jackets differ in cut from women's versions. Women's models are often tapered at the waist for a better fit on the female figure.
