Pellets are propelled by compressed air stored in a permanently fixed pressure reservoir positioned beneath the barrel. A fully filled cylinder enables up to 60 shots on a single fill. Refilling can be accomplished via a dedicated manual or electric pump, or by using a diving cylinder. The package includes a specialized adapter compatible with both filling methods. A pressure gauge mounted at the base of the stock allows users to safely monitor air levels and prevents overfilling.
WARNING!!! An external compressed air supply is necessary to charge PCP air rifles: - a bottle system and a PCP filling kit are suitable for air transfer - refilling with a hand pump is also possible Injected or transferred air must be dried to prevent internal corrosion. The cylinder should always remain charged to approximately 30 BAR for self-sealing.
For the safety of both the user and the rifle, the cartridge is designed to automatically vent if the maximum fill pressure of 250 BAR is exceeded, ensuring surplus air is safely released. Overfilling the cartridge above the recommended limit can cause irreversible damage in severe cases.
Pellet loading is simple—just pull the bolt back, following the design of a small-bore rifle, and insert a pellet into the loading chamber. Pushing the bolt forward returns it to its firing position and makes the air rifle ready to shoot.
The air rifle’s main benefit is the total lack of recoil. As the pellet is discharged, recoil is virtually nonexistent. This absence of recoil significantly boosts accuracy, delivering remarkable precision. In terms of accuracy, the S-400 clearly outperforms even the highest quality spring-powered air rifles. The precision-rifled barrel is manufactured by the renowned German Lothar Walther factory.
The handguard, carved from beech wood, ensures a steady hold, while a specially designed rubber recoil pad conforms to the shooter’s body. The ergonomically shaped Monte Carlo stock provides excellent cheek support and alignment.
Mechanical iron sights are not equipped on this air rifle.
