Bestech Knives Fanga Folding knife by Grzegorz "Kombou" Grabarski - Grey

A reliable EDC (Every Day Carry) folding knife crafted by Polish knifemaker Grzegorz "Kombou" Grabarski. Featuring a Clip-Point blade made from D2 tool steel, known for its excellent corrosion resistance and superior edge retention. The blade’s plain edge uses a flat grind and is completed with a satin finish. Ergonomic handle constructed from G10 laminate offers a secure, non-slip grip. Quick deployment is achieved via a flipper and thumb hole, while a Liner Lock mechanism provides reliable safety during use.

Polish project

Grzegorz "Kombou" Grabarski, a renowned knife designer from Poland, takes his creative cues from pop culture, video games, the natural world, and biomechanics. Fusing contemporary aesthetics with innovative, organic shapes, he has crafted distinctive blades. His earlier partnership was with Brrr... Knives, whereas now, his unique designs—developed in collaboration with Bestech Knives—have earned global acclaim among knife collectors.

D2 tool steel

Forged from D2 tool steel, recognized as a semi-stainless alloy, the blade delivers balanced corrosion resistance, exceptional wear resistance, and reliable edge retention, ensuring a fine, robust cutting surface. Once hardened, the blade achieves a hardness rating of 57-62 HRC, supporting long-lasting sharpness even under demanding conditions.

Clip-point blade finished with satin

Equipped with a Clip-Point profile, the blade measures 108 mm in length and 3.8 mm in thickness. Designed with a smooth cutting edge utilizing a flat grind, the blade shape ensures exceptional cutting performance while preserving solid durability, making the knife suitable for demanding tasks. Finished using the satin method, the blade gains a semi-matte appearance that minimizes glare and enhances resistance to scratches.

non-slip handle made of G10 laminate, titanium clip

The handle features G10 laminate, made from layers of fiberglass bonded with epoxy resin. This advanced material guarantees exceptional strength, resistance to moisture, and reduced weight. An ergonomic, non-slip grip provides reliable handling in demanding conditions. A titanium clip offers practical attachment options, making it easy to secure the knife to a belt, pocket, or other gear.

Liner Lock, flipper, and thumb hole

A flipper is used to deploy the blade, doubling as a small cross guard once the knife is open, safeguarding fingers from slipping onto the blade, or alternatively, a thumb hole can be used for deployment. The blade's opening action is enhanced by a ball bearing integrated into the knife’s main pivot. In the open position, the blade is secured by the Liner Lock mechanism.

D2 feature
D2
D2 is a high-carbon tool steel classified as semi-stainless, characterized by high wear resistance and the ability to maintain a thin, durable edge. It achieves a hardness of 57-62 HRC, which ensures long-lasting sharpness even with intensive use. Its chemical composition is a precisely selected combination of elements: carbon (1.4-1.6%), chromium (11-13%), molybdenum (up to 0.8%), vanadium (up to 1%), manganese (up to 1%), and silicon (up to 1%). The high carbon and chromium content ensures hardness and wear resistance, while molybdenum and vanadium improve the strength and durability of the cutting edge. Although D2 steel is not completely stainless, its corrosion resistance is sufficient to meet the requirements of most conditions of use. It is widely used in the production of mid-range and high-end knives, including handmade knives and cutting tools.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.

A very well-made, nice, stylish folder. The cutting edge is sharpened symmetrically on both sides, the blade is properly centered in the liners—two features that are not at all obvious and, in many currently available folders from well-known American brands, were less carefully made. Smooth action when opening and closing the knife, absolutely buttery smooth. The knife tip tapers down to needle size—it makes cutting material easier, but requires care not to accidentally break or roll the tip when contacting harder materials or during quick thrusts (like in the Yojimbo/Yojumbo by Spyderco, for example). Give this knife to someone who doesn't know the brand, and they would never guess it's... Chinese. Everyone knows what the phrase "made in China" evokes in pop culture, but you have to give them credit—nowadays their knives are simply masterful. I recommend it!

A very elegant knife. The mechanics are excellent. The scales are excellent. The lock is excellent. The quality of workmanship is excellent and higher than many knives with a European or American origin. I like it. The current price, in my opinion, is adequate. The problem is that it is not very sharp and the blade is 102 mm long, not 108 as described. It may be appealing and it's not heavy, but it is long, although still 5mm shorter than described.
