Bestech Knives Irida by Grzegorz "Kombou" Grabarski Folding Knife - Silver

An EDC folder designed by Polish knife designer Grzegorz “Kombou” Grabarski. It features a wide blade with a Straight Back profile and a flat grind, which ensures excellent cutting performance. The blade is finished with a satin finish. It is made of Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel, which is resistant to wear and corrosion. The handle is made of G10 laminate with a non-slip texture. The knife opens using a flipper and thumb hole, and the Liner Lock ensures safe use.

Polish project

Grzegorz “Kombou” Grabarski is a well-known Polish knife designer who draws inspiration from pop culture, video games, nature, and biomechanics, combining modern design with futuristic, organic forms. He has collaborated with the Brrr… Knives brand, and his designs are currently produced in collaboration with Bestech Knives, having gained international recognition among collectors.

Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel

The blade is made of modern Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel, developed by the Swedish company Sandvik, which is renowned for its excellent performance characteristics. It is characterized by high hardness while maintaining very good corrosion resistance and edge retention. After proper heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness in the range of 55–62 HRC, offering an optimal balance between sharpness, strength, and wear resistance.

Straight-Back blade with satin finish, jimping

The blade, with a Straight-Back profile, is 97 mm long and 3.8 mm thick. It features a smooth cutting edge achieved through flat grinding. The blade is finished with a satin finish, which gives it a semi-matte surface and increases its resistance to scratches. On the spine of the blade, where the thumb rests, there is jimping to make the tool easier to handle.

non-slip G10 laminate handle, titanium clip

The handle is made of G10 laminate, which consists of layers of fiberglass bonded with epoxy resin. This material offers high strength, moisture resistance, and light weight. Finger grooves enhance control over the tool, even when your hands are wet or dirty. A spring-loaded titanium clip makes it easy to carry the knife, allowing you to clip it to a belt, the edge of a pocket, or another piece of gear.

Liner Lock, flipper and thumb stud

The blade is opened using a flipper, which, when open, acts as a small cross guard that prevents the fingers from sliding onto the blade or into the thumb hole. The opening mechanism itself has been improved by incorporating a ball bearing into the knife’s main axis. When open, the blade is locked in place by a Liner Lock.

14C28N feature
14C28N
14C28N is a martensitic "nitro" stainless steel developed by the Swedish company Sandvik (now Alleima). Its chemical composition has been optimized to achieve high hardness through nitrogen (0.11%) rather than carbon, which maintains corrosion resistance and increases edge durability. The carbon content of 0.62% contributes to good cutting properties, while chromium (14%) ensures high resistance to rust and oxidation. After proper heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness of 55-62 HRC, which provides an optimal balance between sharpness, strength, and corrosion resistance. Thanks to its fine-grained structure and ease of sharpening, 14C28N is a popular choice for the production of kitchen, EDC, hunting, and tactical knives.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.

This is not Bestech. This is a Beast! This knife is as slender as a snake, as fast as a snake, and as sharp as a snake's fangs. The carbon fiber scales look like snake skin. The handle fits perfectly in the hand and allows for precise operation. The slim blade has an almost full flat grind. And the steel reflects and splits the light like tiny crystals. The assisted opening is lightning fast. You just wish it had an axle-lock instead of a liner-lock, so you could click, click, click it both ways. But the implemented liner-lock is also fantastic. It works smoothly, and when closing the blade, there is a noticeable resistance point, probably so you have time to move your fingers out of the way. The knife arrived in a beautiful zippered pouch with pockets. In one pocket was the knife, and in the other a microfiber cloth. I think it would also be a good idea to include a few adhesive bandages with the pouch. In summary, I recommend it—it's beautiful. And menacing :)

Interesting, unusual, somewhat futuristic design. The materials and mechanism are very good for this price. The knife is large but slim. It's comfortable to carry every day. I recommend it.
