Black Bunker BM8 Air Rifle 4.5 mm - Black

A traditional break-barrel air rifle featuring a foldable and compact polymer construction, outfitted with a gas piston and a Weaver/Picatinny compatible mounting rail system. Designed for use with diabolo pellets in 4.5 mm caliber, delivering a muzzle velocity reaching up to 300 m/s. Ideal for both recreational target practice and more advanced shooting purposes.

Durable, folding design

Constructed from lightweight and durable fiberglass-reinforced polymer, the design features three movable components: the barrel, the handguard, and the stock. Engaging the locks on the handguard and above the stock enables the air rifle to fold into a compact triangular form, while the pull rail acts as a stabilizing lock by securing itself into the stock’s opening. A waterproof plastic case is included in the kit and mounts between the folded parts of the air rifle, offering a secure compartment for transporting shooting accessories.

Gas spring

Equipped with a gas spring, the BM8 provides more consistent shots while operating more quietly and smoothly compared to conventional springs. The gas spring also ensures that performance parameters remain stable over a prolonged period. Cocking is achieved through the traditional Break Barrel system. For added safety, a manual safety is positioned within the trigger guard, preventing accidental discharge.

Mounting rails, mechanical sighting devices

Fitted with mechanical aiming systems, including a front sight and an adjustable rear sight, the air rifle ensures precise targeting. A 22 mm Weaver/Picatinny standard rail positioned atop the body enables quick installation of any optoelectronic optics. Flanking the sides, two supplementary rails offer mounting options for accessories such as a laser, flashlight, or bipod.

Overall, this air rifle is a misunderstanding. It does shoot quite powerfully for an air rifle, but there are major drawbacks. The trigger is absolutely terrible; the trigger pull is so long that you could smoke a cigarette before hitting the wall, and once you do, there's a strong break that jerks the shot. Additionally, it's like a seeder; the barrel gets hot, the pellet is right, the air rifle is stabilized, scope zeroed in, yet at 30 meters, the grouping is very poor. Generally, I don't recommend it, unless someone just wants to shoot and break glass bottles from 20 meters.

The carbine is very handy thanks to its ability to be folded. After a few shots, I can preliminarily say that it is accurate and hits hard, without strong recoil (for an amateur). A big advantage is also the pellet and accessories container, perfectly fitted into the weapon's design when folded.

The purchased air rifle turned out to be a bullseye. Good quality-to-price ratio of the Black Bunker BM8 4.5 mm airgun (in my case, in tan color), high quality of workmanship, attention to detail, these are qualities that guarantee enjoyment while shooting. I recommend it!

A folding carbine??? And some kind of Black Bunker??? What is this anyway??? I know that among amateur astronomers there's a superstition called First Light—when you go out for the first time with a new telescope, if everything goes well, it'll serve for years. Maybe with airguns, there's First Blow? Someone has already written about the brilliant folding around the suitcase. I confirm—you don’t need covers, and you won’t scare people… if someone doesn’t know it’s a carbine, they probably won’t guess. The First Blow happened today in the basement from 20 meters (I don’t have a longer corridor). I don’t like or know how to shoot with mechanical sights, so I put on a good quality Hawke Vantage 4x12x40 scope—in fact, what they say is true, it comes from the factory with "zero collimation"—the first test shots, hey, what’s going on? New equipment to learn, and almost everything’s "in black"… I think I got a Bunker unit that immediately clicked with the scope. Just lucky, I guess. The carbine has a Picatinny rail; I had four mounts of this standard at home—just begging to be used for the scope. Unfortunately, a strong airgun almost always loosens the screws on the mounts—at first, everything was rock solid, but I knew after a few shots I’d have to readjust. Indeed, after about 40 or 50 shots, everything was wildly off… It was late, and I didn’t want WW3 in my basement—I had some blue Loctite somewhere that solves loosening of metal parts for years. And since I like zeroing and am pretty good at it—tomorrow (well, today) I’ll do the full procedure "at the range." Worse if I can’t find the Loctite—then it’ll be a journey and begging from the neighbors :-)

I have had this carbine for several weeks. Mechanically, it is flawless. After a few dozen shots everything settled in and works very smoothly. The polymer stock is very sturdy and feels secure in hand. The trigger works very smoothly, although it has a rather long pull. My unit reaches an energy of 14.8J (232m/s) with JSB EXACT Diabolo 4.51 pellets and with good consistency. These pellets provided the best grouping results. I mainly shoot at a distance of 40m (the picture attached comes from such shooting). 14J is a lot for a springer, which results in the carbine kicking when shooting. Thus, it is much more demanding in terms of proper and consistent shooting stance compared to PCP airguns. My initial shooting results were a bit disappointing. I suspected that the pellet was not well chosen or that the scope was losing zero, but the main culprit turned out to be a shooter spoiled by PCP rifles. The main cause of flier shots on the target are mistakes in shooter stance. Nevertheless, when mounting a scope, it needs to be suited for the recoil of a springer and tightly fitted. This is not a PCP. If someone is looking for an interesting and powerful springer, this carbine is worth considering.

A carbine I never thought I needed in my life, but once I got it, I don’t want to let it go. Solidly built, powerful, and practically perfectly tuned to fit the manufacturer’s declared 16J (tested with a 7.4 gr pellet – the results are in the range of 15.5-15.85J). Cool feature with the "built-in" suitcase and carbine folding. One downside—I don’t like built-in iron sights. They’re a bit hard to read (though I’m quite spoiled by the Axial sight on my compound bow), and the Picatinny rail gets in the way of more precise aiming. You can remove it, but since it’s already there, you might as well install a red dot or scope and forget about iron sights. Oh, and the looks—I really like this machine.

We bought it together with my grandfather at the showroom in Bydgoszcz recently. It works great, very precise and powerful. After adding a scope, it's a blast. Nice folding system. It seems well built and should withstand a lot of shooting. The pleasant trigger action and heavyweight result in low recoil. Feels great in the hands. Despite the polymer stock, it doesn't feel like a toy. Superb quality.

A very interesting carbine. Innovative in its design. I had the chance to hold and use it at an HFT competition in Bohumin, Czech Republic. Compact and lightweight—I personally prefer the coyote version.

Today I picked up the carbine from the courier, mounted the bipod, and shot at a distance of 25 m, 20 shots from the prone position within a circle of 8 cm diameter. After installing and zeroing the scope (Walter 6 x 40), the grouping was within a 5 cm circle. I think the BM8 is a great weapon, I recommend it.

The carbine was purchased at the Militaria Posnania store on 31.10.2024. It is advertised as a survival rifle "for tough times." After purchase, I tested it on my property. Optical sight 1-6x32. Target - A4 sheet. A few trial shots. The situation isn't great. A normal scatterer. In case of an apocalypse, I'll die of hunger.
