One of the best-thought-out survival books I've had a chance to read. A plus, but also something worth knowing before purchase, is that it is aimed at ordinary people who are not specialized in survival. It is not an advanced manual, but a light, small book that is worth having and worth carrying with you, or keeping in the car, as it really covers a multitude of very important issues. I am also glad that when it comes to self-defense, the author focuses mainly on methods of detecting and avoiding danger, rather than advising on fighting, because as the author himself points out, if you are not trained, you can only harm yourself by entering into direct confrontation. It also touches on many valuable psychological aspects that are often overlooked. So it is a practical, useful book, not overwhelming with unnecessary details and matters that would require the reader to already have some training. This information really can save someone’s life or health.

Quite a good item, a truly survival-themed book, light and would fit in a larger pocket. I gave it 4 stars though, as it's just the basics. When I pick something to read, I want to expand my knowledge. Some topics I'd like to explore in more depth are only briefly mentioned. But that was the purpose—pocket-sized and compact.
