The sword is very good, functional. However, I would think twice about cutting down trees with it. Is it possible? Definitely, but why? You accelerate the wear and risk losing your health. Unless those 'trees' are sticks ≤ 30 cm in circumference...
The Dragonfly series stands as the most prestigious line of Japanese swords by Cold Steel. Its defining characteristic is the prominent dragonfly motif showcased in the ornate details. Crafted following traditional Japanese techniques using premium materials, the Dragonfly sword is designed to meet the expectations of discerning enthusiasts.
Engineered for rigorous cutting exercises, the sword is fully optimized for Tameshigiri.
Forged from expertly tempered 1055 spring steel, the blade features a zero grind, seamlessly blending the flats into the razor-sharp cutting edge. Exceptionally sharp, the blade easily slices through training mats. The blade flats are polished to a high gloss finish, while the main grind remains semi-matte with a subtle satin sheen.
Constructed from wood, the handle is covered with genuine Same (stingray skin - Raja) and wrapped in traditional silk. Decorative elements such as the eye-catching Tsuba (cross guard), Kashira (pommel), and Menuki (ornament beneath the wrap) are cast from metal, enhancing the sword's visual appeal.
The wooden Saya (scabbard) is finished with an enamel coating that authentically imitates classic Japanese lacquer. Included is an ornate cover made from heavy-weight silk fabric.
Combining historical authenticity with full functionality, the sword features a sharp, live blade.
Highly recommended for advanced practitioners of kenjutsu, iaido, and kendo, as well as for serious weapon collectors.

The sword is fantastic, I fulfilled my childhood dreams, I recommend it to everyone.
-
Beautiful replica, sharp as a razor and perfectly balanced – for a serial production from a renowned company, nothing to add, nothing to take away – expecting a katana forged from meteorite steel would be an exaggeration ;)
-
For cutting branches and trees I use: Cold Steel Wakazashi :) instead of a machete... The sword is short and works great.
-
I also have such a sword, I also cut down trees and I don't see anything inappropriate about it.

I see Marcin has a great sense of humor and not much sense in his head if he’s chopping trees with such a sword. Sorry buddy, but instead of a sword, buy yourself an axe and then go to the forest to cut trees. But what will the foresters say about that? By the way, the sword is great, I use at least this sword myself and I can recommend it to anyone who would like to start their adventure with Iaido or Kendo.

Cool thing, the sword cuts trees without any major problem.
