Cold Steel Pro Lite 4116SS Stonewash Folding Knife - Black

Robust EDC folding knife (Every Day Carry), crafted in collaboration with the highly esteemed knife designer Andrew Demko. Equipped with a blade featuring a Tanto profile, forged from 4116SS stainless steel known for its excellent corrosion resistance. The plain edge blade showcases a Stonewash finish. The handle, presented in black, is constructed from fibreglass-reinforced nylon and features a non-slip texture for enhanced grip. Opening is facilitated by a double-sided thumb stud, while the Tri-Ad Lock mechanism guarantees dependable safety during use.

4116SS stainless steel

Forged from durable 4116SS stainless steel, the blade offers excellent resistance to corrosion, straightforward sharpening, and reliable edge retention. Undergoing heat treatment, the blade attains a hardness of 55-57 HRC.

Tanto profile blade with Stonewash finish

Equipped with a Tanto profile, the smooth blade features a length of 83 mm and a thickness of 2.8 mm. A hollow grind ensures superior cutting capabilities and precision in detailed tasks. The blade's geometry maximizes cutting efficiency while providing the durability required for demanding usage. Finished using the Stonewash method, the blade boasts a matte appearance for enhanced aesthetics and increased resistance to scratches.

Nylon handle, steel clip

Featuring an ergonomically designed handle crafted from nylon reinforced with fibreglass (FRN), this knife offers durability and strength. The non-slip surface of the scales guarantees a firm hold, even in wet or dirty conditions. Reliable everyday portability is provided by a springy steel clip, allowing secure attachment to a belt or pocket. The clip is reversible and can be installed in a tip-up configuration, accommodating both right- and left-handed users. A hole at the handle's end is included for attaching a cord or lanyard.

Tri-Ad Lock, double-sided thumb stud

When opened, the blade is locked securely in place by the Tri-Ad Lock system, an enhanced version of the traditional Back Lock. Renowned for its exceptional strength and reliability, it stands among the toughest locking mechanisms for folding knives. A double-sided stud mounted on the blade enables rapid one-handed deployment using the thumb.

4116SS feature
4116SS
4116SS steel is the commercial name for high-quality 1.4116 stainless steel from the German DIN group, widely used in kitchen knives and medical tools. The carbon content (0.45-0.55%) ensures good hardness and edge durability, while chromium (14-15%) guarantees high resistance to corrosion and oxidation. The steel also contains molybdenum (up to 0.6%), vanadium (up to 0.2%), manganese (up to 1%), silicon (up to 1%), and a small amount of nickel (up to 1%). It achieves a hardness of 55-57 HRC after appropriate heat treatment, which allows for knives with good cutting properties, easy maintenance, and corrosion resistance.
Tri-Ad Lock feature
Tri-Ad Lock
Tri-Ad Lock is a lock developed by Cold Steel and Andrew Demko, considered one of the strongest systems in folding knives. Its key element is a stop pin, which takes the pressure from the blade and distributes it to the handle, protecting the lock from wear and overload. The mechanism is designed to self-adjust over time, which maintains the reliability of the lock even after prolonged use. In tests, it has proven resistant to loads of up to hundreds of pounds, confirming its durability.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.
FRN - Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon feature
FRN - Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon
FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon) is a glass fiber reinforced nylon often used in knife handles. It is produced by injection molding, which results in a lightweight, durable construction that is resistant to moisture, chemicals, and mechanical damage. The surface of FRN can be textured, which improves grip in various conditions. Thanks to its combination of lightness, durability, and ease of production, FRN is a popular choice for EDC and utility knives.
