The mat is excellent. It provides solid insulation from the ground, and combined with an air mat, it offers ultra-comfort (sleeping like on a mattress) – precisely because of these large chambers. I know, it's somewhat off-putting that it's blue and not olive (etc.), but it is what it is. I have one reservation (which does not reduce the rating to 4 stars) – the set did not include compression straps (!!!).
