The shorts are comfortable and the material is very pleasant. Easy to choose the right size. As for the downsides, the buttons are sewn on very poorly and sloppily, but this is easy to fix. Pockets are practically placed and spacious.
Comfortable shorts designed as a shortened version of the trusted CPU (Combat Patrol Uniform) cut. The shorts feature 8 pockets, wide belt loops, and a button fly. With numerous pockets, they are ideally suited for both urban environments and outdoor adventures.
Crafted from RipStop fabric made of 100% cotton, offering durability, lightweight comfort, breathability, and a soft feel.
The shorts include eight pockets:
- two standard pockets,
- two side cargo pockets secured with velcro and buttons,
- two flat rear pockets with button closures,
- two flat front pockets designed for a phone or multitool.
The CPU shorts are enhanced with a reinforced seat using an additional fabric layer. The adjustable waistband, featuring a drawstring, allows for a customized fit to the wearer.

Very comfortable shorts with a lot of practical pockets—the best are the two small ones in the front. The material is durable and shouldn’t wear out quickly. The sizing, for me, is just right.

They wear very well. Nice two little pockets in the front. The material is indeed durable. Shorts used in tough conditions. Durable and comfortable. The number of pockets, their placement, and capacity are satisfactory.

Generally good trousers. Comfortable and they are very good pants for hot days. The typical issue for most is that the buttons are not sewn on tightly. A very good solution at the pockets is the additional button fastenings in case the velcro comes undone under a heavy load.

I must admit that despite what I think are somewhat overcomplicated pockets with a drawstring and stopper, which probably serve to additionally prevent losing their contents, I'm satisfied with the pants. You could say it's the good old version of ripstop cotton shorts and there’s really nothing to complain about, because as usual the quality, in my opinion, is still at a very high level for Helikon. Of course, the typical flaw of most such clothes is the buttons not sewn on well, so if someone wants indestructible and secure buttons, they need to sew them on themselves. Besides that, I'm pleasantly surprised by the depth of the main pockets (in my opinion, the cargo pockets are a similar size as in a typical BDU) since a hand fits in easily, and I think larger pieces of equipment too. Maybe it’s an effect of the 3XL size that I took, but that’s a plus for me. The back pockets are also deeper than in the case of BDUs. A very good solution for the cargo pockets, which probably isn’t visible in the photos, are the additional button fastenings in case the velcro comes undone under heavy load (and yes, I've had to carry shopping in cargo pockets more than once, though that was with traditional BDUs and classic buttons), but this kind of safeguard is a very good solution. The wide belt loops, in my opinion, seem sturdier than in the case of BDUs where they are thinner, so that’s a plus too. Overall, these are very good pants for hot days, although you have to remember that the trade-off for being light and airy is longer drying times and, I think, slightly less durability than in the case of ripstop polycotton. I base this on the wear of similar pants, but those were Helikon BDUs in 3 color desert. Still, you can hardly feel that you have these cargo pants on, which is a big plus for me. Of course, I recommend the shop because it’s professional, and Helikon for maintaining quality, introducing new interesting lines as well as keeping classic ones like BDU or M65.
