Hogue Deka 3.25" Clip-Point Black Cerakote folder knive - Black

Folding everyday carry (EDC) knife with a Clip-Point blade designed by renowned American knifemaker - Allen Elishewitz. The blade is made of CPM MagnaCut powder stainless steel characterized by high abrasion resistance. The model is equipped with an ABLE Lock mechanism that prevents accidental folding during use. The black handle is made of glass fibre reinforced nylon.

CPM MagnaCut steel

The blade is made of CPM MagnaCut powder stainless steel hardened to a hardness of 62-64 HRC. The material used is highly resistant to wear and corrosion, and has low susceptibility to chipping and cracking. The surface is finished with a black Cerakote coating, which protects against scratches, improves corrosion resistance, and minimizes glare.

The Clip-Point blade is 83 mm long and 2.4 mm thick. The blade is finished with a flat grind. The blade design offers very good cutting efficiency while maintaining adequate strength, allowing for more intensive use of the knife. The sharp, meticulously finished tip allows for tasks requiring high precision cutting. The blade is opened via a double-sided thumb stud, allowing the knife to be opened with either the right or left hand. Jimping is placed on the spine of the blade where the thumb rests, facilitating controlled cutting.

handle made from glass fibre reinforced polymer, Deep Carry clip

The handle is made of glass fibre reinforced nylon. This material combines very low weight with high mechanical resistance and insensitivity to moisture and temperature changes. The textured surface type improves grip even when working with a wet hand or in gloves. The construction is completed with a steel deep carry clip that can be reversed to the other side. A hole for a lanyard or leash is placed at the end of the handle.

ABLE Lock

The model is equipped with the proprietary lock mechanism ABLE Lock, which stands for Ambidextrous Bar Lock Enhanced. This solution functions similarly to popular crossbar lock systems and allows for convenient one-handed opening and closing of the knife.

CPM MagnaCut feature
CPM MagnaCut
CPM MagnaCut is a stainless tool steel developed by Crucible Industries and produced using powder metallurgy (CPM). It is characterized by high strength, high wear resistance, and very good corrosion resistance, despite its relatively low chromium content (10.7%). The steel is comparable to the best tool steels, such as CPM-4V or Vanadis 4E, offering high resistance to cracking and chipping. Thanks to the use of free chromium and carbides formed mainly by vanadium (4%), CPM MagnaCut is less brittle and resistant to abrasion, even with a hardness of 60-64 HRC. In addition, the presence of niobium (2%) and molybdenum (2%) ensures stability at high temperatures, making the steel ideal for harsh working conditions. The composition of CPM MagnaCut also includes 1.15% carbon, which ensures adequate hardness and edge durability, making this steel valued in the manufacture of tools and weapons.
ABLE Lock feature
ABLE Lock
ABLE Lock (Ambidextrous Bar Lock Enhanced) is an improvement on the Crossbar Lock developed by Hogue. It features a three-stage, aggressively milled bar that improves grip and facilitates operation. The mechanism uses omega springs that maintain constant pressure and ensure secure blade locking. Thanks to its high precision, the ABLE Lock is considered one of the most refined designs of its kind.
Cerakote feature
Cerakote
Cerakote is an advanced ceramic-polymer coating applied to knife blades to increase their durability and give them a distinctive appearance. It forms a thin, opaque layer that does not alter the geometry or balance of the blade, while ensuring high durability. Its matte, non-reflective finish, available in a variety of colors, makes it a popular choice for tactical and outdoor knives. The coating is resistant to impact, chipping, and abrasion, effectively protecting the steel in demanding conditions. In corrosion tests (Salt Spray ASTM B-117), it retains its properties for thousands of hours, protecting the blade from rust and oxidation. It is also resistant to chemicals, including cleaning agents and solvents.

A very successful knife design. It will work perfectly as an EDC knife. It is compact and made from the highest quality materials. The steel stays sharp for a long time. I recommend it.

Checkmate, Mr. Bugout. Better steel, better mechanics. I recommend it to anyone looking for a small EDC knife with good steel and low weight. Elishewitz really makes great designs.
