The radio is quite interesting. - It receives stations pretty well (I managed to catch, depending on the frequency, somehow: apparently Finnish, apparently Korean, Italian, possibly Russian) - The speaker is sufficient, - The Bluetooth range is indeed about 9 meters, - The housing seems "armored" and well made (but I haven't dropped it on anything hard ;) ) - The manual... you can figure everything out by experimenting, but reading the instructions (English only) is definitely recommended, - The box provides very good protection for the radio itself, - The "police" signal is quite loud. - The flashlight works well as an emergency option, gives good, bright light, - The dynamo works efficiently, I didn't check if the numbers in the instructions match reality exactly ... but it works, - Solar... I have no idea if it works, I didn't have a chance to test it, - It's nonsense to say the radio is produced by JB Tacticals, Poland. This is a Chinese product just rebranded with their sticker. There are several companies on the market offering the same radio under different names (obviously outside of Poland/Europe ...). Overall, I rate this radio positively as an emergency or purely travel option.

JB Tacticals JB-08 Emergency Radio - Green
The green emergency radio serves as a compact survival tool, integrating a FM/AM/SW/WB radio, LED flashlight, powerbank, and Bluetooth 5.0. Equipped with a 4000 mAh battery as well as a solar panel and manual crank (dynamo), the device remains functional even in the absence of electricity. Ideal for camping, power failures, and crisis scenarios, it ensures a reliable source of power, illumination, and critical updates.
Durable housing, indicators, buttons, compass
The construction utilizes a robust plastic casing that is impact- and moisture-resistant. Positioned at the rear, the solar panel is accompanied by the Next, Play/Pause, Previous, SOS Alert, and Emergency Power Output Switch buttons located above the panel.
On the front face, users will find a tuning knob, speaker, and frequency indicator, with function indicators accessible above these controls.
Mounted on top of the casing is a volume knob featuring a built-in compass, and a hand crank on the side is provided for manual power generation.
Controls labeled BAND, MODE, SET, and LIGHT allow users to manage radio operation, select work modes, and activate the flashlight. Element layout is purposefully designed to facilitate reliable use even in demanding outdoor or field conditions.
radio, telescopic antenna, white noise
A broad frequency spectrum is supported by the model, enabling reception across the FM, AM, SW1–SW7, and WB (NOAA weather channels) bands. Access to FM frequencies makes it possible to tune in to local news and music broadcasts, the AM band excels in capturing signals from distant locations, while the shortwave SW1–SW7 enhances connectivity with international stations. The dedicated WB band allows monitoring of weather alerts and forecasts transmitted by meteorological authorities. Both manual and digital tuning options are available, and the integrated telescopic antenna provides robust and stable signal reception in outdoor environments.
Included is a White Noise mode, capable of playing seven natural ambient sounds—such as rain, ocean waves, wind, and campfire—to promote relaxation, assist with sleep, and ease stress whether in the field or at home.
LED flashlight, SOS signal
Equipped with a 120-lumen LED flashlight, the device ensures reliable illumination in low-light conditions or during unexpected blackouts. The specialized reflector delivers a concentrated beam, enhancing navigation and visibility in outdoor environments.
An integrated SOS button on the casing instantly triggers both a visual light signal and a sound alarm for SOS. The prominent auditory alert enables effective signaling for assistance, significantly boosting operational safety.
Built-in battery, solar panel, dynamo
Equipped with a 4000 mAh built-in lithium-ion battery, the radio ensures prolonged use without the need for frequent recharging. Power can be supplied via three methods: a USB-C port, solar panel, or crank generator (dynamo). By manually operating the crank, essential power can be generated to recharge the battery during emergencies, while energy can also be restored during daylight hours with the solar panel. These versatile power options make the radio reliable for use in any location, even far from conventional power sources.
Powerbank function, microSD slot, Bluetooth 5.0
JB-08 features a powerbank function that allows users to charge mobile devices while on the go. A built-in 4000 mAh battery supplies power to the USB-A port, making it possible to connect a phone, flashlight, or various electronic equipment. The USB-C port provides rapid charging for the radio, ensuring quick energy restoration. In addition, the device comes equipped with a microSD (TF) slot, a 3.5 mm AUX input for wired audio connections, and a Bluetooth 5.0 module for wireless audio streaming from a smartphone or tablet. All ports are shielded by a rubberized cover, protecting them from dust and moisture.
modes and operating time
Operating duration with a single charge (4000 mAh):
- FM/AM/SW/WB radio: operational for up to 18 hours
- Bluetooth / USB / TF: functions for as long as 9 hours
- White Noise: maintains performance for a maximum of 16 hours
- LED flashlight: endurance reaches up to 23 hours

Great radio, small (the case allows you to throw it in your backpack and not worry about anything, there is also a USB cable in there so you won't lose it), lightweight, good shortwave reception, volume control with the compass, the crank works fine, I haven't used the solar panels yet. The alarm sound is very loud :) The power bank is sufficient for emergencies. Bluetooth function is also a plus. I recommend it, worth it!

This is already my third emergency radio and so far the best one – it stands out with its interesting design, many features, good signal quality, and excellent sound. Streaming audio via Bluetooth from the phone works very well, and the solar panel is larger than in most similar devices – though it's more for maintaining than for fully charging. I haven't tested the crank charger or playback from the TF card yet. So why do I rate it 4 stars? Like every product, this radio is not free from flaws, and I have a few suggestions: - an additional power option using classic AA or AAA batteries, even if it would increase the size. - a simple and described way for users to replace the internal battery themselves. - nowadays, many stations are broadcast with DAB+; I don't know which technology would be more useful in a critical situation, but it would be nice if the radio could also receive DAB+. However, as far as I know, there is no emergency radio that supports both SW/AM and DAB+ – usually DAB+ is only combined with FM. - some models have an SW band from 3.2 to 22.0 MHz, and this one only starts from 5.7 and ends at 17.9 MHz. Honestly, I don't know if you can actually catch anything on the wider range. - the 7 “natural” sounds are probably for relaxation, but after listening, you can feel that the speaker doesn’t render them realistically. Additionally, the loop is too short – in my opinion, calm music with a loop longer than a minute would work better. - the playback control buttons are in the reverse order. - the description mentions a “3.5 mm AUX input for wired audio sources.” That’s not true – it’s actually (and more importantly!) a headphone output (verified in the manual and personally). However, an additional 3.5 mm input would be a great complement.

The radio meets my expectations. It is small and light, just right for a backpack, but the sound quality is good. Besides, what is important to me, it has a headphone jack.

This emergency radio seems durable enough to perform well on any expedition into remote areas. Packed in a small, padded box, it will be helpful even in the most demanding situations. Its construction is quite unusual... This is a gadget worth having!

Interesting radio, different from all the ones I have. Initially bought for my backpack, but now it plays music at work. It has an interesting design and features, and it lasts quite a long time, at least at the beginning. I can't say anything bad about it yet because it basically does everything. You can play songs via Bluetooth, use FM and AM functions. I haven't used all the features yet (plus, in a big city, it seems to me that some things are not possible, especially between huge skyscrapers). Fun fact, I didn't know how to turn up the volume—it turns out you need to twist the compass, and that adjusts the volume levels.
