Flecktarn camouflage
Flecktarn is a classic German military camouflage, officially introduced into use by the Bundeswehr in 1990. This pattern is based on small, irregular spots in five colors - usually dark green, olive, brown, black, and beige. Due to the distribution of numerous dots and blurred borders between colors, Flecktarn effectively breaks up the contours of the user's silhouette both in forested areas and among bushes or against a forest floor background. The camouflage was designed with European climatic conditions in mind, especially in the temperate zone. Flecktarn remains a standard pattern used by the German army and other military and police formations, and its effectiveness has led to numerous variants and adaptations in other countries.
