MultiCam Camouflage
MultiCam represents an advanced camouflage design, created in 2002 by the American company Crye Precision in partnership with the US Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) for the Objective Force Warrior project. Designed to serve as a highly adaptive camouflage solution, its purpose was to deliver effective concealment across diverse terrain and fluctuating environmental conditions. The MultiCam pattern utilizes a palette of seven distinct colors, forming smooth transitions between greens, browns, and beige tones. Such composition enables the pattern to respond to surrounding landscapes—displaying green tints within forests and adopting earthy browns and beiges in desert settings—making it especially functional in Central and Eastern European areas during autumn or amidst dry vegetation. Due to its effectiveness, MultiCam earned global acclaim and is now standard issue for various military and special operations units worldwide. In 2010, the US Army officially selected this camouflage for its personnel in Afghanistan, replacing the previous Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP). The pattern is also available for civilian use, which has made it a favorite among military simulation and airsoft enthusiasts.
