I have these pants in both colors. On the plus side, they are waterproof and warm, and they have spacious pockets. On the minus side, they are very roomy. I am 188 cm tall, weigh 85 kg, and have about a 90 cm waist, so I chose size L. There are drawstrings at the waist and at the bottom of the legs.
Mil-Tec Softshell Explorer Insulated Pants Waterproof - Black
Explorer softshell pants are crafted to be durable, insulated, waterproof, and breathable, featuring a breathable membrane for enhanced comfort. Constructed from a premium blend of polyester and elastane, the material is lightweight, highly flexible, and dries significantly faster than cotton. The pants offer effective insulation thanks to the fleece lining.
Material waterproofness is rated at 5000 mm/m2, while the 3-layer laminate structure guarantees optimal comfort in any environment.
seven practical pockets
The pants feature a total of seven pockets for maximum utility:
- two standard open side pockets
- a small zippered thigh pocket
- two spacious cargo pockets, each equipped with a D-ring, internal compartment, and flap secured with button closure
- two back pockets featuring flaps with button closures
The abundance and strategic placement of these functional pockets make the pants ideally suited for use in both urban settings and challenging outdoor environments.
Fleece lining, reinforced knees, adjustable legs
The inside of the pants features a warm soft fleece lining for added comfort. Reinforced knee patches provide extra durability, guarding against abrasion and tearing. Adjustable drawstrings at the cuffs ensure a secure and personalized fit to the wearer’s shape.
Two D-rings are placed on the front belt loops, perfect for attaching keys, a flashlight, or similar gear. Zippers hidden beneath a protective flap allow for modification of leg width, while a classic zipper secures the fly.

I've tested the trousers at -10° so far, and if the leg cuffs are tightened, they work well. At 185 cm tall and 92 kg, size M (the sizing really is strange). Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase. The material feels a bit odd to the touch, but that's probably due to the waterproof coating.
-
Great trousers, extra insulated so you won't feel cold on winter walks or even camping when the temperature is below zero. I recommend them.

When choosing these trousers, I really had an issue with the sizing, but I was able to exchange them quickly and easily, and finally chose the right size. The waist fits well and the leg width doesn't bother me; plus, there is an option to adjust at the bottom. The only thing I was unsure about was whether they might be too long, but later, once I took a walk in them, it didn't bother me. They are warm, so they're not suitable for temperatures above 10°C, but if it's below 10°C—they're perfect. They’ll definitely be great for winter trips, but I don't know how they will perform for everyday use; they might be too hot if you go indoors for a while, let alone staying inside for long.
-
They seem warm and comfortable, but unfortunately, they are designed for a giant ;) even though I chose the size according to the chart and the pants sizes I usually wear. I had to return them. I'm writing this review only to mention the very overstated sizing, as other opinions confirm.

Nice pants. Even the cut is quite good. Unfortunately, Mil-Tec did not do well (as they often do) when it comes to sizing, which is underestimated. These pants are two sizes larger than the declared value. Knowing this, they are really practical. I returned mine and eventually bought them elsewhere because my size was out of stock here, but I still recommend them.
-
The sizing is a bit bigger than standard. The pants are very solid, warm—in most Polish temperatures, you don't even need thermal wear. Excellent waterproofness. I recommend.
-
Very warm trousers. Sizing is overstated. The legs are very wide.
-
Not tested in the rain yet. My waist is 100 cm and height 185 cm. I bought size L. A bit too big, but I'm keeping them. M might be too small. According to the chart L is 94-99 cm. In reality, it's 104 cm. The legs are a bit long, but there is a drawstring. You can tighten it over the boot.
-
Excellent trousers. I'm 182 cm tall and have a 90 cm waist, size M is perfect! Indeed, the sizing is seriously overstated!
-
The sizing is terribly overstated, especially for size L and XL. Other than that, the trousers seem warm, but the legs are very wide, so they might flap around too much in the wind during mountain trekking. On the plus side, the pockets are very roomy.

Next day delivery itself is already a reason for satisfaction, and I haven't even reviewed the product yet. First impression right after unpacking is positive, the built-in belt/velcro fastener is very practical and quickly adjusts the size. Plenty of pockets, and the quality of workmanship is very good. I haven't tested them outdoors yet but I think they will serve well.
-
Truly a solid product, does not soak through. They are quite light and comfortable. The sizes are rather big, a bit larger than standard, e.g., L. So in winter over thermal clothes it's great.

For the first time in my life, I received pants that are not either too long, too small at the waist, or too large at the waist. Thanks to the elastic waistband, the pants adjust themselves to our waist, which isn't mentioned in the product description, and I don't know why because that's a strong advantage. Besides that, they have a lot of pockets, are warm, and breathable. Size L for 110KG.

Comfortable, warm, high quality workmanship.
