Simple, inexpensive, and very sharp. A knife without unnecessary gimmicks, I would even say it's a classic. I use it daily in my EDC set, and often take it to the forest. It is sufficient for basic, light bushcraft tasks.
Opinel No.10 INOX Folding Knife
A medium-sized, remarkably lightweight folding knife equipped with a 10 cm lockable blade. An iconic design from a French producer boasting over a century of heritage. Featuring a Clip-Point blade crafted from stainless steel, finished with a semi-matte polish. The blade's flat grind, approaching a zero-grind profile, combined with its slim construction, delivers outstanding cutting efficiency.
Simple and reliable Virobloc locking mechanism
In the open state, the blade is secured by the Virobloc lock, a mechanism patented in 1955. A steel ring is positioned on the handle, aligned with the blade’s pivot point. Once the knife is unfolded, rotating the ring a few degrees will conceal the slot on the blade within the handle, effectively preventing unwanted blade movement. This mechanism also locks the knife when closed, providing protection against unintentional opening. A notch on the blade enables easy opening, comparable to the design found on Victorinox pocket knives.
Contoured handle made of beech wood
Crafted from beech wood, the handle boasts an ergonomic design for a comfortable, secure, and warm grip. A further benefit lies in its ease of customization. The most straightforward upgrade involves drilling a hole at the end of the handle to attach a safety lanyard. Additionally, various textures can be applied, it can be carved, and finished with a stain in any desired color.

Opinel is a French knife brand whose history dates back to 1890 in Savoy. The founder, Joseph Opinel, created the first folding knife, No. 08, which quickly became a symbol of everyday use thanks to its simplicity and functionality. In 1955, the Virobloc locking system was introduced, later modernized, which is still the hallmark of the brand today. In 1985, Opinel was recognized by the Victoria and Albert Museum as one of the 100 best-designed objects in the world, and the brand's knives also found their way into the MoMA collection in New York. Production takes place in Chambery, with an emphasis on quality and ecology - the wood comes from French forests and the waste is used to heat the factory. Among the famous users was Pablo Picasso, who used Opinel for carving, and the knives themselves have become a symbol of simplicity, durability, and the French lifestyle.

The Opinel No.10 knife is my 4th knife from Opinel's stable, each of them excellent and reliable. Beautiful natural appearance, functionality, possibility for modification, all are advantages. Be careful because it is really sharp. I recommend it!

I have a few of these knives in my collection, I've also given many to friends and everyone is satisfied. Simple construction, brilliantly designed lock, easy to sharpen blade and timeless look are the hallmarks of this product. I recommend it.
-
Very pleasant knife, Opinel is a class of its own, but it’s worth mentioning the blade which is well shaped and sharpened, size 10 is ideal—I recommend it.
-
Very good, solid, and sharp knife. Simply a classic. The folding and unfolding option is cleverly designed. Another plus is that you can modify it yourself. I recommend it – it's worth having one.

Bought at Militaria over 2 years ago. Solid knife, well-made, cuts very smoothly, easy to sharpen, very good Swedish steel. The size allows for more varied use. However, I switched to size 9 over time due to smaller hands, and for daily "work" I often use size 8. The "ten" is quite large but not excessively. It's a matter of preference. Overall, I recommend trying it.
-
A classic in its category. Size 10 is probably the best for purely kitchen work. The blade length makes any task very easy and quick. Another Opinel for the collection. I highly recommend these knives.
-
A classic of the knife world. Not only practical but also conservatively beautiful with that wooden handle. I like Opinel’s aesthetics, which doesn't scare outsiders with tactical look or aggressiveness. The knife is sharp out of the box, good and simple locking mechanism. Compared to the most popular size 8s I've used, this one seems big, but fits better in a man's hand. The handle is noticeably thicker and 'meatier' compared to Opinel 8.

I really like Opinel knives. I’ve had the no.7 for a long time but recently got a no.10, which I plan to use mainly for preparing meals outdoors. Simple construction, classic look, lightweight design.
-
Knife bought for my daughter. Excellent for everyday use as well as for trips. Very sharp and keeps its edge. With a little care, the knife will last for years. This is her next Opinel, because at this price it’s hard to find such a useful and durable tool. I recommend it.
-
Great knife, fits well in the hand. The biggest plus of such a wooden knife is that it can be personalized according to your preferences. Size 10 is enough for slicing bread or gutting fish in the field.
-
The knife is simply outstanding. Sharp and, importantly, keeps its sharpness. Fits well in the hand, and you can also modify it. The price for a product like this is also good. I recommend it.
-
Great little knife for the outdoors or mountain hiking, especially for food since it's stainless steel, so you don't have to worry after cutting veggies, etc. Of course, remember to wipe it dry, as it can swell a bit and become harder to open, but that's just its charm.

Very good, solid, and sharp knife. Simply a classic. The folding and unfolding option is cleverly designed. Plus, you can modify it yourself. I recommend it – it's worth having one.

A sharp and solid knife. A good alternative when you don't want to carry a fixed blade knife. For now, I'm satisfied.
