Large, yet remarkably lightweight folding knife from the Slim series, featuring a 15 cm locking blade. An iconic design from the renowned French brand with a tradition spanning more than a century.
The blade, sporting a Trailing Point profile, is crafted from Sandvik 12C27M stainless steel and boasts a high-gloss polished finish. With a full flat grind close to zero-grind and a slender blade thickness, outstanding cutting performance is achieved. Ideally suited for filleting tasks.
A notch on the blade, much like those on Victorinox pocket knives, allows for easy opening. Secure blade lockup in the open position is ensured by the Viroblock system, patented in 1955 – a steel ring at the blade’s pivot on the handle. After deployment, simply rotate the ring to block the handle gap, rendering the blade immobile. The same system also protects against accidental deployment when closed. An elegant and highly efficient locking mechanism.
The handle is constructed from padauk wood and finished with a transparent, abrasion-resistant varnish. Ergonomically sculpted for a non-slip, reliable hold, it also offers the flexibility for customization. The simplest alteration involves drilling a lanyard hole at the rear; further modifications such as texturing, carving, or staining in various hues are also possible.
A versatile companion, the knife performs superbly in the kitchen, during fishing expeditions, camping, or forest outings—especially appreciated by enthusiasts who value heritage and natural materials.

Opinel is a French knife brand whose history dates back to 1890 in Savoy. The founder, Joseph Opinel, created the first folding knife, No. 08, which quickly became a symbol of everyday use thanks to its simplicity and functionality. In 1955, the Virobloc locking system was introduced, later modernized, which is still the hallmark of the brand today. In 1985, Opinel was recognized by the Victoria and Albert Museum as one of the 100 best-designed objects in the world, and the brand's knives also found their way into the MoMA collection in New York. Production takes place in Chambery, with an emphasis on quality and ecology - the wood comes from French forests and the waste is used to heat the factory. Among the famous users was Pablo Picasso, who used Opinel for carving, and the knives themselves have become a symbol of simplicity, durability, and the French lifestyle.
