Adorable little knife. I don't really know much about types of steel, I don't get any strange excitement at the sight of pieces forged from mysterious alloys. This pocket knife reminds me of the little knives you'd see in drawers at the allotment garden, storage rooms, or in the worn hands of a grandpa. The piece I bought is, for now, beautiful and clean—maybe one day, if I have grandchildren, it will bring similar associations for them.
Opinel No.6 INOX Folding Knife
A medium-sized, ultra-light folding knife equipped with a lockable 7 cm blade. Representing a renowned French brand with over a century of craftsmanship, this classic model features a Clip-Point blade crafted from stainless steel and finished with a semi-matte polish. Thanks to a flat grind nearing a zero-grind and a slim blade profile, outstanding cutting efficiency is achieved.
Simple and reliable Virobloc lock
In the open position, the blade is secured by the Virobloc lock, a mechanism patented in 1955. The lock consists of a steel ring integrated into the handle, positioned at the pivot point of the blade. After unfolding the knife, rotating the ring a few degrees covers the notch in the handle, locking the blade in place and preventing unintended movement. This mechanism also protects against accidental deployment when the knife is closed. Deployment of the blade is easily achieved using the notch on the blade, reminiscent of those found on Victorinox pocket knives.
Contoured handle made of beech wood
The handle is crafted from beech wood, ergonomically contoured to deliver a secure, warm grip. A notable feature of the handle is its adaptability for customization. The most straightforward modification involves drilling a hole at the rear to attach a safety lanyard. Additional personalization options include adding custom textures, carving, or staining it in your preferred color.

Opinel is a French knife brand whose history dates back to 1890 in Savoy. The founder, Joseph Opinel, created the first folding knife, No. 08, which quickly became a symbol of everyday use thanks to its simplicity and functionality. In 1955, the Virobloc locking system was introduced, later modernized, which is still the hallmark of the brand today. In 1985, Opinel was recognized by the Victoria and Albert Museum as one of the 100 best-designed objects in the world, and the brand's knives also found their way into the MoMA collection in New York. Production takes place in Chambery, with an emphasis on quality and ecology - the wood comes from French forests and the waste is used to heat the factory. Among the famous users was Pablo Picasso, who used Opinel for carving, and the knives themselves have become a symbol of simplicity, durability, and the French lifestyle.

Nice small knife. A big advantage is its non-threatening appearance. When I take it out at work, no one pays attention to it, unlike a typical folder. The knife has a very thin blade, which makes it perfect for cutting fruits, vegetables, and other kitchen tasks.
-
Nice handy little knife, you can put it in your pocket without really feeling it. Affordable price, quality 10/10, and it wouldn't be a shame if you lost it. I always carry it with me in my bag and use it more often than my Swiss Army knife.
-
A tiny knife that won’t scare anyone. Bought to be legal in various countries, and in case it gets confiscated, it won’t be a big loss. Besides, it's a good little knife, for example, for a suit because it’s small.
-
Small, handy knife, exactly what I was looking for. Fits in any pocket. Blade is very sharp, sits well in the hand, I have no complaints, just had to get used to the locking system, but after a few openings and closings it became totally natural. Recommend.

Classic—cheap, good, sharp. For everyday use, for your pocket, lightweight, you can forget you have it with you. Great for opening packages, for mushroom foraging trips. I wouldn’t recommend doing heavy work with it, but for the above tasks—perfect.
-
A nice backup knife. Small, handy, pleasant to use. Good materials, decent craftsmanship. Highly recommended for anyone looking for their first knife.
-
A small, sharp little rascal, so you can easily carry it in your pocket and it won't bother you, but it's always at hand when needed. The workmanship, as always with Opinel, is top class.
-
Small, sharp, I like that it has a lock against accidental opening, fits EDC into a pouch or smaller pocket. I haven’t sharpened it yet but from the reviews, I deduce that there should be no problem.
-
Just what you need for trips. Small and sharp.
-
Small, sharp and doesn’t get in the way in a backpack or even in a pocket.
-
Well made. Sharp. I recommend it.
-
Perfect for mushrooms or preparing meals outdoors. Easy to sharpen and very light. Simply brilliantly made!
-
Very good as a camp culinary tool. Small, sharp, light, ideal for slicing and peeling vegetables, fruits, etc. Not suitable for throwing into a stump or hunting bears. :-)
