Lightweight folding knife equipped with a clip-point blade profile. The blade is crafted from stainless steel INOX and features a semi-matte finish. Boasting a hardness of 55-57 HRC, the blade utilizes a flat grind.

A nail notch allows for convenient blade deployment. The 1955-patented Virobloc lock secures the blade in the open position. Constructed as a steel ring located at the pivot point of the handle, the lock rotates to shield the blade slot once the knife is opened, effectively preventing unwanted blade movement. The same mechanism offers reliable safety against accidental opening when the knife is folded.

An ergonomically designed handle made from robust beech wood ensures comfortable grip, further adorned with a laser-engraved motif inspired by cycling.

Opinel is a French knife brand whose history dates back to 1890 in Savoy. The founder, Joseph Opinel, created the first folding knife, No. 08, which quickly became a symbol of everyday use thanks to its simplicity and functionality. In 1955, the Virobloc locking system was introduced, later modernized, which is still the hallmark of the brand today. In 1985, Opinel was recognized by the Victoria and Albert Museum as one of the 100 best-designed objects in the world, and the brand's knives also found their way into the MoMA collection in New York. Production takes place in Chambery, with an emphasis on quality and ecology - the wood comes from French forests and the waste is used to heat the factory. Among the famous users was Pablo Picasso, who used Opinel for carving, and the knives themselves have become a symbol of simplicity, durability, and the French lifestyle.

    A branded knife for the forest? Why not! It works great for preparing meals, it's sharp, light, compact, and the handle engraving is pleasing to the eye. And Opinel is a class of its own. I recommend it!

    It looks better in the picture than in reality. It feels less solid than you might expect. It is very light, almost unnoticeable in the hand. The steel feels delicate and easy to damage. The engraving on the handle is carefully done and pleasing to the eye. As an emergency knife for a backpack or to show off at a campfire while sharpening sticks for sausages, it will do very well. Also, at this price, there isn’t much to complain about.
