The knife is of excellent quality! The blade is perfectly sharpened, providing precise and effortless cutting. The handle, made from different types of wood, looks stunning – it attracts attention and is liked by every knife enthusiast. At first, I had concerns about the Virobloc locking system, but it turned out to be reliable – it works great and provides complete safety during use. I highly recommend it!
Lightweight folding knife featuring a Clip-Point blade profile, designed by the distinguished French designer Bruno Chaperon. Crafted from INOX stainless steel, the blade offers excellent corrosion resistance. Hardened to a level of 55-57 HRC, the blade showcases a flat grind and a highly polished, mirror-like finish.
A nail notch enables effortless blade deployment. The patented 1955 Virobloc lock secures the blade once open, utilizing a steel ring positioned at the blade’s pivot on the handle. Rotating the ring after opening blocks the blade slot, ensuring solid lockup. The same mechanism reliably prevents unintentional blade deployment when folded.
The handle provides ergonomic comfort and is constructed from a blend of four distinct wood types (such as cocobolo, rosewood, ebony, boxwood, or purpleheart). As each handle is crafted from a unique combination of wood, appearance may vary in color and grain, ensuring every piece is one-of-a-kind.
A suede pouch is supplied with the knife.

Militaria.pl is a premium dealer of Opinel.
Opinel is a French knife brand whose history dates back to 1890 in Savoy. The founder, Joseph Opinel, created the first folding knife, No. 08, which quickly became a symbol of everyday use thanks to its simplicity and functionality. In 1955, the Virobloc locking system was introduced, later modernized, which is still the hallmark of the brand today. In 1985, Opinel was recognized by the Victoria and Albert Museum as one of the 100 best-designed objects in the world, and the brand's knives also found their way into the MoMA collection in New York. Production takes place in Chambery, with an emphasis on quality and ecology - the wood comes from French forests and the waste is used to heat the factory. Among the famous users was Pablo Picasso, who used Opinel for carving, and the knives themselves have become a symbol of simplicity, durability, and the French lifestyle.

I have several Opinel knives in my collection, and I have to admit that once again, I am not disappointed. The knife works flawlessly, and the blade is ideally sharpened. Big plus for the handle, which is made from various types of wood, so no two look exactly the same. A treat for collectors. PS. Good price :)
