MultiCam represents an advanced camouflage design created in 2002 by the American company Crye Precision in collaboration with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) under the Objective Force Warrior initiative. The primary objective was to engineer a highly adaptable camouflage solution capable of providing concealment across diverse terrains and fluctuating environmental conditions. The MultiCam pattern incorporates seven distinct colors, forming smooth gradient transitions among green, brown, and beige hues. Consequently, the pattern seamlessly blends into its surroundings, exhibiting green tones in woodland settings and variations of brown and beige in arid or desert landscapes—making it especially effective in Central and Eastern European regions during autumn or amidst dried vegetation. MultiCam has achieved global acclaim and is employed by numerous military forces and special operations units worldwide. In 2010, the US Army officially selected this camouflage to equip troops deployed in Afghanistan, thus replacing the previous Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP).
