M05 camouflage
The M05 camouflage (Finnish M05 Maastokuvio) represents a series of pixelated camouflage designs that were implemented by the Finnish Defence Forces in 2005, replacing the previous M91 pattern. Developed through digital analysis of seasonal photographs of Finnish woodland landscapes conducted by the Finnish Forest Research Institute, M05 encompasses multiple patterns suited for different environments, including woodland, snow, and cold weather variants.
The primary woodland variant of M05 features a combination of light green, dark green, brown, and dark graphite shapes, accurately mimicking the typical appearance of Finnish forests. Owing to analogous vegetation and terrain characteristics, the M05 Woodland camouflage is also highly effective in the forests found throughout Central and Eastern Europe, ensuring reliable concealment in natural terrain.
