The wharncliffe blade is crafted from CPM S30V powder steel, renowned for its outstanding edge retention, superior durability against mechanical impact, and excellent resistance to corrosion. Featuring a low flat grind, the blade’s geometry provides both the tip and cutting edge with exceptional toughness. The milled surface above the grind also contributes to maintaining minimal overall weight.
With a generous thumb hole—Spyderco’s patented and trademarked design—the blade allows for ambidextrous, glove-friendly opening. Aggressive jimping along the spine delivers a stable thumb rest, prioritizing comfort and safety in operation. When deployed, the blade is securely held in place by a dependable compression lock.
