The set is useful because the tweezers grip firmly. Maybe even too firmly, as removing them is difficult – people with larger fingers might have trouble, and you need a lot of finger strength to take them off. I chose this set because it's the only one I found with a box included. The dimensions are fine. I haven't had a chance to use it yet; I bought a couple of sets as a backup for my medical and hygiene bag.

When going to the forest, you have to be aware that you might catch a tick. Unfortunately, these little critters can transmit diseases such as Lyme disease or tick-borne encephalitis, so if you spot one, it should be removed as soon as possible. That's where tick removers like the Tick Twister are irreplaceable. If they are properly matched to the tick's size, they handle the problem easily. I've used them many times and have always managed to remove the entire tick, so I consider them an essential part of a first aid kit.

An incredibly simple solution for getting the critter out... comes in different sizes enclosed in a carabiner form so as not to lose them and to attach or keep them in one place... simple and utilitarian.

We borrowed it from friends in the neighboring tent when we forgot ours. They are very effective and comfortable to use, and also look nice. I can definitely recommend them.
