MultiCam is an advanced camouflage pattern, engineered in 2002 by the American company Crye Precision in collaboration with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) as part of the Objective Force Warrior initiative. The intention was to develop a highly adaptable camouflage suitable for a broad spectrum of terrains and fluctuating environmental conditions. Incorporating seven distinct colors, the MultiCam design features smooth gradient transitions between various greens, browns, and beiges. This allows the pattern to effectively blend with its surroundings, presenting greener tones in forested landscapes or adopting brown and beige hues in arid and desert settings. In Central and Eastern Europe, MultiCam excels during autumn and among dried vegetation. The pattern has achieved global acclaim and is fielded by numerous military forces and specialized units worldwide. In 2010, the US Army officially selected MultiCam as the standard camouflage for troops stationed in Afghanistan, replacing the former Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP). Cordura is a material woven from durable nylon fibers, developed by DuPont. The structure of the material provides lightness and abrasion resistance, as well as weather resistance. Due to its properties, Cordura is widely used in tactical equipment.
LCS (Laser Cut System) is a new version of the assembly used in the MOLLE system, where instead of traditional tapes, laser-cut holes are used directly in the material. The system is much lighter than standard sewn-on PALS tapes and guarantees better camouflage. The holes are hemmed with thread to prevent fuzzing and ripping, or, as in the case of Cordura, the laser-cut edges are fused.
