MultiCam is an advanced camouflage pattern created in 2002 by the American company Crye Precision in collaboration with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) as part of the Objective Force Warrior initiative. Designed to deliver superior versatility, its purpose was to offer effective concealment across a wide range of terrains and varying environmental conditions. The MultiCam design is composed of seven distinct colors that blend seamlessly between green, brown, and beige hues. Due to this gradient effect, the pattern efficiently adjusts to its environment—displaying green tones in wooded zones and more brown and beige shades in arid or desert landscapes. Across Central and Eastern Europe, it excels especially during autumn and within dry vegetation settings. MultiCam has achieved global recognition, adopted by various military forces and elite units. In 2010, the US Army officially selected this pattern for soldiers deployed to Afghanistan, replacing the previous Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP). The pattern is also accessible for civilian use, making it a favored option among military and airsoft hobbyists.
