The original HK G36 rifle is manufactured by the well-known German company Heckler und Koch Gmbh. In limited quantities, the G36 is also used in Poland. The G36 rifle is an individual self-revolving weapon. It can be equipped with a box magazine for 30 rounds or a double-barrel C-Mag magazine for 100 rounds. The rifle is produced in several versions. The best-known varieties are the G36C subcarbine with a mechanical sight and a long Picatinny rail for mounting other sights, the G36K carbine equipped with a shortened barrel and folding stock, and the MG36 hand-held machine gun. The G36 was to be the basis for the production of the XM8 carbine for the US military, but the program was canceled.
