Anyone who has used a traditional bow is well aware of how intuitive it is to aim from it. The situation is different in the case of block bows, sport bows and similar bows, where the installation of a sight is almost an indispensable part of the operation of the bow. Among the available sights for bows, there are many models, ranging from simple models with a single pin, to advanced ones with a fiber optic system, to sights with an illuminated sighting reticle.
Depending on the type of sight, different types of material are used for its manufacture. Most often, durable plastic or aluminum is used to make a bow sight. Advanced models can be equipped with a level, which allows you to accurately fix and calibrate the sight. Most multi-pin sights are freely adjustable both vertically and horizontally.
The fiber-optic rod or target reticle illumination systems used make it possible to aim in limited light conditions. Models equipped with several aiming pins allow the shooter to calibrate the sight for shooting at different distances - this makes it much easier to quickly aim at targets at different distances. Along with the sight, shooters benefit from a small peep sight accessory. It performs the function of a peep sight, slightly reducing the power of the bow, as it is mounted on the bowstring. The peep sights are mounted primarily to the bow's maypole, at the height of the arrow rest.
