Recent historical discoveries state that the first traces of arrows come from South Africa, from inside the Sibudu cave, and date back 70000-60000 years. The first arrowheads made of bone were found there. In contrast, the first remains of bows in Eurasia, according to modern estimates, are about 18000-17500 years old. Further traces of primitive forms of archery have been discovered north of Hamburg, in modern-day Germany, and are dated between 10000 and 9000 years ago. So one thing is certain, the bow as a weapon has accompanied us for millennia. Used for hunting, fighting for territory, it was a symbol of strength and agility. For about two thousand years, it competed with the slower but higher energy and much easier to use and train crossbows.

The invention of firearms has led to its use these days almost exclusively for sporting purposes. One of the most important components of a bow is its string. It must be strong enough to withstand the overloads and forces that act on it throughout its life. Historically, bowstrings were made from natural components such as hemp fibers, flax, silk, and animal components like tendons, horse hair or dried and properly treated intestines. In this product category you will find bowstrings of the highest quality, offered by reputable manufacturers, made only from modern synthetic substances. We have bowstrings for Poe Lang and Umarex bows, as well as archery accessories, such as finger protectors and string tensioners, of the Polish brand Sekula Archery.
The choice of a bow is an individual matter, and everyone should take into account their age, height and strength when choosing one. When buying a bow, it is worth getting a set of accessories right away. In addition to a forearm protector and a finger guard, it is worth taking a moment to choose the right bow string. This is an extremely important element, which, during any malfunction, prevents further use of our equipment. During a competition or an ordinary weekend target shooting, a broken or damaged bowstring immediately closes our way to winning or immediately stops the fun. It is then worth having a spare and replacing it quickly. Remember to take regular care of your bowstring by lubricating it with special wax and checking its condition. If you have a compound bow, such as the popular Cobra, for example, you will find in this section a dedicated system of blocks and cables designed specifically for it. In addition, you'll also find stringing for Buster, Blue Jazz, Exterminator, Kirupira, Axis, Nova, Rex, Crusader, Chameleon and many other block and classic bows offered on our website. We also offer a set of suppressors for Axis block bows by Poe Lang. They allow to protect against possible damage to the arms, which can be caused by vibrations. It also has the effect of negating the noise when firing a shot. If you have an archer friend and you know his bow model, buying the right bowstring can prove to be a very apt and practical gift.
