Cargo pants – a brief history

Cargo pants probably first appeared in 1938 as part of the uniform of the British armed forces. They were equipped with large pockets that soldiers used to carry maps, bandages, and other items useful on the battlefield. Only around the 2000s did these pants begin to be worn daily by civilians.

What cargo pants to choose?

When choosing tactical pants that are primarily intended for the field – for example, during camping or survival activities – it's worth paying special attention to the material from which they are made. Good cargo pants are often made from a blend of polyester and cotton, ensuring high resistance to abrasion and tearing.

Another important factor is the number of pockets. Cargo pants should have large, spacious pockets on the thighs, where you can store: a compass, map, multitool, and other useful items. It's also important to have additional pockets – for instance, in the back, on the buttocks, classic side pockets, and a small concealed pocket for a pen. The more practical pockets, the better.
