The renowned English manufacturer Air Arms has upgraded its popular S400/410 series PCP air rifle by incorporating features previously found in high-powered carbines: the barrel is fitted with an integrated sound moderator that also acts as a gas diffuser. Another significant innovation is the addition of the new SL cocking handle (Side Lever), which uses a dual-stroke bolt mechanism reminiscent of the biathlon style, enabling rapid reloading without changing shooting position or losing sight alignment.
NOTE!!! A compressed air supply is required to charge PCP air rifles: - either a cylinder, with air transferred using a dedicated PCP charging kit, - or charging with a hand pump. Any air introduced or transferred to the rifle’s tank should be thoroughly dried to prevent internal corrosion. The reservoir should always maintain a minimum pressure of around 30 BAR to ensure an effective seal.
In terms of safety for both the rifle and the shooter, once the maximum fill pressure of 250 BAR is exceeded, the cartridge will automatically and permanently release excess air, allowing a safe discharge of surplus pressure. Please be aware that violating the maximum permitted pressure in the reservoir may result in severe and irreversible damage. Following manufacturer guidelines, recommended air pressure should remain below 190 BAR. A full air tank delivers up to 80 consistent shots (about 65 for .177 caliber and around 80 for .22 caliber).
The set contains an adapter for bidirectional air charging. A manometer is built into the air rifle to allow precise monitoring of tank pressure.
The precision barrel, crafted at the reputable Lothar-Walther facility, measures 395 mm in length. Its 12-groove rifling with a 1:450 mm twist delivers optimal rotational stabilization for lightweight pellets, especially up to velocities of 360 m/s. The muzzle features an external thread to accommodate an optional additional sound moderator.
Loading pellets is highly convenient by retracting the bolt (using the aforementioned SL cocking system, in biathlon design), which rotates the 10-shot rotary magazine. Advancing the bolt chambers the pellet into the barrel for firing. The robust plastic magazine features a clear cover on the shooter’s side, enabling real-time monitoring of pellet count.
The trigger offers adjustability for both pull weight and travel distance. Its spring-loaded safety mechanism reliably prevents unintended discharges from accidental trigger activation.
The stock, handcrafted from a single piece of beech wood, emulates traditional hunting firearm aesthetics, boasting a Monte Carlo profile with a deeply contoured cheekpiece for enhanced shooting comfort. The soft rubber buttpad provides sure stability and a secure fit for the shooter.
Both the pistol grip and forend are aggressively textured to maximize grip control and also enhance the rifle’s tactical appearance. The handguard is deeply grooved, adding to the hunting motif while further trimming overall weight.
No open sights are installed, but thanks to the rifle’s exceptional accuracy—even at extended ranges—such sights are unnecessary, as the tight shot groupings exceed the resolving power of the human eye. For best results, an optical scope is recommended, mountable on the standard two-piece 11 mm rail.

Second opinion. After shooting 1000+ rounds, it's still an excellent choice. Everything works perfectly. A spare magazine is included, so you do not need to buy an extra one. The air cylinder is enough for about 100 accurate shots. I bought a silencer, it's even quieter now. With the silencer it easily fits in the LUX case. I added a Bushnell 4.5x18x40 Valkyrie crosshair scope. They work together perfectly. Remember: do not use scopes with a large parallax wheel due to the magazine. That's probably the only downside, but not for me. PERFECTION.
