Simple, functional, nothing to add or take away. The only thing you could fault are the edges on the spark lighter – they are shaped differently and it's not equally easy to make sparks on every side (very likely my lack of familiarity with the tool is to blame for less effective use).
Badger Outdoor Fire Rod Flint
Fire Rod serves as a compact and straightforward tool designed to produce a powerful stream of sparks, enabling quick and efficient fire ignition. Ideal for camping, survival missions, and emergency scenarios, Fire Rod proves invaluable in lighting campfires, igniting gas or portable hiking stoves—providing a dependable heat source and making outdoor meal preparation much simpler.
Ferrocerium - a reliable source of fire
The flint is equipped with a durable ferrocerium rod (a specialized metal alloy), measuring 67 mm in length and 8 mm in diameter, providing extended longevity and straightforward operation. A single firm stroke with the provided spark striker creates a concentrated burst of sparks that readily ignites the prepared tinder—thanks to the cerium in the rod, which oxidizes and ignites spontaneously.
The rod produces sparks reaching temperatures of up to 3,000 degrees C, enabling reliable fire starting even in heavy rain or subzero temperatures.
Spark igniter with bottle opener function
Thanks to its compact dimensions, the entire set can be conveniently stored in a pants pocket, backpack compartment, or a small bag. The chair provides comfortable use whether wearing gloves or with bare hands.
Included in the set is a metal spark igniter designed as a tin with a serrated edge, which efficiently produces sparks and also functions as a bottle opener.

A very solid fire starter for a reasonable price. It produces a big shower of sparks, which makes it easy to start a fire even in tougher conditions. The sparks easily ignite prepared tinder. I recommend it to any bushcraft fan.
-
The fire starter and the knife for producing sparks were delivered well secured and in perfect condition. The product has not been tested yet. It will be part of my emergency kit.
-
The fire starter works and that’s all there is to say about it. Admittedly, it could be made a bit better and more solidly, but for this price it does its job. I recommend it.
-
The striker included in the set gave me trouble when creating sparks, so I suggest using, for example, a knife. For this price, it's worth trying out how you manage to start a fire, and if it works for you, you can consider purchasing a higher-quality product, especially if starting a fire is important to you.
-
Perfect for learning, although the plate is problematic, the rod likes to fall out of its mount. As a first firestarter for learning, it's absolutely fine. It's good to check if you actually need it or if you decide you'd rather stick to matches or a lighter.
-
Good, simple firestarter, I recommend using a knife for striking, because the included metal striker does produce sparks, but quite weakly. And the only drawback is that the firestarter tends to fall out of the plastic handle.
-
The fire starter works, and at this price, it is perfectly sufficient. It's supposed to fulfill specific tasks, and that's exactly what it does. Easy to store, easy to use.
-
This firestarter is truly high quality. Both the store and the seller once again proved their reliability with fast order fulfillment and excellent service. I tried using it in strong wind, with wet kindling, and after being submerged in water – it worked perfectly every time. I highly recommend this product! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
-
The fire starter is adequate for the price, but the downside of the product is its durability—the fire starter fell out after a short period of use, so you have to be careful. However, for this price, it is perfect.
-
The fire starter is very pleasant, although I recommend using it with a knife that has a 90-degree angle on the back of the blade (the Mora didn't give as many sparks). I do not recommend playing around with it, as it will wear out quickly.
-
Great fire starter, works perfectly for lighting a gas stove or kindling, it's thick and long enough to definitely last for years. The price is very affordable.
-
The fire starter does the job. Sparks fly without any problem. For better effect, I recommend using the slightly curved horizontal part of the striker, not the serrated one. The rod itself is thinner and shorter than the competition, but it's fully functional and deserves full marks due to its competitive price.
-
The rod is quite thick and long, and the striker collects shavings very well – you just need to use the correct side (the one with the bent metal tab to the side). Then, without applying much force (even in the air), you can light a spirit stove or firelighter, and it produces a lot of sparks on its own. I can definitely recommend it.

Great little fire starter, works perfectly for lighting a gas stove or kindling. It is thick and long enough to last for years. The price is very affordable.
