A solid piece of magnesium. The striker is thin but does its job. Once the magnesium is used up, it will be useful for other strikers. The chain is short, just enough to transport the striker together with the plate. During use, you need to unfasten the chain. At this price, the striker is excellent.

The chain on which the plate is mounted is definitely too short. The narrow rod probably won't last very long. You need to practice lighting a fire a bit and develop a technique if you haven't used this type of fire starter before. I bought it to make fire starting easier for my son - he manages to do it.

Thanks to such a fire starter, you can light a fire even after coming out of the water. Magnesium is very efficient; a bit of scraped filings give a strong flame from which it is easy to light small wood. I recommend it—a small thing but gives fire. I do not recommend igniting the filings indoors because they produce a lot of soot, which settles and creates a lot of cleaning up afterward.

This is my second flint, it works well, and the included striker is useful for the magnesium. The flint itself is about 4mm in diameter and is embedded in the magnesium so it won't last a long time, but for this price it's okay. I recommend it.

This fire starter is my first one, at first I had some difficulties. You need to practice a bit with lighting a fire and develop a certain technique if you haven't used such a flint before.
