With ponchos, there is almost always the same problem: you buy them so you do not get soaked in the rain, but once you start moving, for example while hiking, you quickly get wet on the inside because the material practically does not let air through. Side openings usually do not solve the condensation problem, because the fabric folds and sticks to itself, so air circulation is poor. However, this complete waterproofness turns out to be very useful when the poncho serves as a tarp or emergency shelter at camp — and this Badger model also allows that, although in my opinion better solutions can be found. I also ordered the MFH Ripstop poncho and, together with my sons, had the chance to test both during a rainy trip. Both models fit people roughly between 160 and 190 cm tall. If I were to use a poncho mainly during hikes as rain protection, I would choose the Badger, because it is a little lighter, the material is softer, and the included stuff sack has a shape that makes it easier to pack into a backpack. The MFH, on the other hand, gives a sturdier impression and is better suited for frequent use as a tarp or as a groundsheet under a tent.

I previously had a poncho with a large hood and it is impractical - the wind pulls it off, and even if you tighten the drawstrings, it is still too small. Suitable for cycling, the backpack easily fits under the poncho – so I got noticeably less wet than before the purchase. Without the original cover, it fits into the Helikon-Tex General Purpose Cargo Pouch pocket – in such a configuration, the whole thing can be attached to the backpack and kept ready. The look of the beech, mentioned in another comment, is also a plus.

I bought the poncho for Scotland and didn’t use it even once in the rain because it didn’t rain – ironically. Instead, I used it as a groundsheet for the tent, because there’s always water in the ground there, and it fit Fjord Nansen Tordis I perfectly – a thicker groundsheet, protection from possible tearing, extra waterproofing – the perfect solution to have one product for many uses.

This is already my second poncho from this company, this time in camouflage, and I hope that, like the previous one, this one will not let me down. The poncho does what it was made to do, and that's it. It's very light, has 4 eyelets so you can improvise a shelter outdoors, a drawstring in the hood, and a dedicated pouch. The only thing I can complain about is the PU layer, which in this piece (at least that's how I feel) is less solid than in my previous poncho from this manufacturer. Also, the hood could be larger, because if someone has a big head and puts on a cap or helmet, they might have trouble putting it on.

Practical and lightweight poncho, effectively protects against rain. It folds easily and can be put on in no time. It works great as an emergency accessory in a backpack.
