Benchmade Raghorn CPM-S30V knife - Satin/OD Green

Survival knife designed for working in the field and demanding conditions, where durability and a secure grip are crucial. The model features a Full Tang construction, meaning the blade steel runs through the entire length of the handle. This solution significantly increases resistance to overload, improves stability, and minimizes the risk of damage even during heavier tasks.

high-quality stainless steel CPM-S30V

The blade is made of high-quality stainless steel CPM-S30V. It stands out with a precisely formulated composition containing carbon, chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium. The carbon content is approximately 1.45%, ensuring high hardness and long-lasting sharp edge retention.

Chromium is responsible for very good corrosion resistance, making S30V steel suitable for various, even challenging environments. Additives of molybdenum and vanadium increase wear resistance and enhance material durability. The blade is hardened to 58-60 HRC.

drop-point blade profile

A Drop-Point blade profile provides excellent cutting control. This type of geometry is effective for both precise tasks and jobs requiring more force. The applied flat grind supported by SelectEdge technology enhances cutting properties and precision.

The blade is finished with a satining method, resulting in a semi-matte surface that reduces the visibility of small scratches. The model is equipped with jimping, which improves control during thumb pressure tasks, and also finger choil, facilitating precise knife maneuvering.

G10 handle with non-slip texture

The handle scales are made of durable G10 laminate in green color, resistant to mechanical damage and chemical factors. Additional jimping on the tang combined with the textured surface of the scales increases hand grip, ensuring a secure hold even in difficult conditions. The end of the handle features a lanyard hole for additional securing against knife loss.

Boltaron sheath included

The set includes a sheath made of Boltaron, a durable thermoplastic material resistant to scratches, chemical effects, and temperature changes. The orange color of the sheath facilitates quick knife location in the field and increases visibility.

Benchmade Knife Company is an American brand founded in 1988 by Les de Asis in Oregon, with roots dating back to the 1970s when it operated as Bali-Song. The company became famous for producing folding and combat knives, and its butterfly logo refers to the first balisong models, which were awarded the title of Knife of the Year in 1979. Today, Benchmade manufactures knives in three lines: Blue Class, Black Class, and Gold Class, using modern powder steels such as S30V, M390, and CPM-20CV, and the patented Axis Lock, valued for its reliability and smooth operation. Among the brand's icons are the Griptilian, Bugout, 940 Osborne, Infidel, and Bushcrafter models, and the company regularly collaborates with renowned knifemakers such as Mel Pardue, Warren Osborne, and Ernest Emerson. Benchmade was the first knife manufacturer in the US to implement fully automated CNC production, achieving unprecedented precision and repeatability in the industry.

CPM S30V feature
CPM S30V
CPM S30V is a powder stainless steel developed by Crucible Industries in collaboration with knifemaker Chris Reeve. It is distinguished by its precisely selected formula, containing carbon, chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium. The carbon content is approximately 1.45%, which ensures high hardness and long-lasting sharpness. Chromium (approximately 14%) is responsible for very good corrosion resistance, which makes S30V steel suitable for use in various, even difficult environments. Additions of molybdenum (approximately 2%) and vanadium (approximately 4%) increase the steel's wear resistance and improve its strength. As a result, CPM S30V provides an optimal balance between hardness, strength, and corrosion resistance, making it an ideal choice for the production of high-quality knives. After heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness of 58-61 HRC, which is crucial for maintaining a sharp edge and resistance to deformation under stress.
SelectEdge feature
SelectEdge
SelectEdge is a patented Benchmade sharpening technology in which the edge is formed at a 14-degree angle on each side. This precise process guarantees exceptional sharpness, longer cutting performance, and greater effectiveness than traditional methods. Combined with high-strength steels, the result is durable and reliable blades that match the quality of professional surgical tools and are suitable for tasks requiring maximum precision and control.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
Boltaron feature
Boltaron
Boltaron is a new generation thermoplastic material used in the same applications as Kydex, but with superior performance characteristics. Sheaths and holsters made of Boltaron are more resistant to scratches, cracks, and chemicals, and are also harder. This material withstands extreme temperature fluctuations well, making it a reliable choice for knife sheaths that ensure safe storage and quick access to the blade.
