Bestechman Goodboy Folding Knife - Black

Lightweight and robust folding EDC knife (Every Day Carry) crafted for daily tasks. Created by American knifemaker Keanu Alfaro, the knife showcases a Drop-Point blade profile crafted from D2 tool steel paired with a handle made from black G10 laminate.

D2 tool steel

The blade is crafted from D2 tool steel and hardened to a level of 58-60 HRC. This material offers excellent resistance to wear and retains optimal toughness against impacts.

Drop-Point profile blade

Featuring a Drop-Point style, the blade measures 90 mm in length and has a thickness of 3.5 mm. A smooth edge, finished with a full flat grind, allows for efficient slicing. To further boost both piercing efficiency and precision, the tip area is enhanced with an additional grind. The blade spine combines Satin and Stonewash finishes for optimal durability and aesthetics. Enhanced control and comfortable handling are ensured by pronounced jimping along the blade's spine, offering a secure grip for the thumb.

Button Lock, ball bearings

A Button Lock mechanism keeps the blade safely locked in the open position. Rapid deployment is ensured by a double-sided thumb stud in combination with ceramic ball bearings for smooth action.

G10 laminate handle

Designed with an ergonomic shape, the handle features robust G10 laminate constructed from multiple layers of fibreglass set in epoxy resin. The scales provide a non-slip texture for enhanced safety and reliable grip during use. A lanyard hole is incorporated into the end of the handle for added versatility.

spring clip

A two-position deep carry clip, suitable for both right/left-handed users, ensures convenient knife transport and allows secure attachment to a belt, pocket edge, or various gear components.

D2 feature
D2
D2 is a high-carbon tool steel classified as semi-stainless, characterized by high wear resistance and the ability to maintain a thin, durable edge. It achieves a hardness of 57-62 HRC, which ensures long-lasting sharpness even with intensive use. Its chemical composition is a precisely selected combination of elements: carbon (1.4-1.6%), chromium (11-13%), molybdenum (up to 0.8%), vanadium (up to 1%), manganese (up to 1%), and silicon (up to 1%). The high carbon and chromium content ensures hardness and wear resistance, while molybdenum and vanadium improve the strength and durability of the cutting edge. Although D2 steel is not completely stainless, its corrosion resistance is sufficient to meet the requirements of most conditions of use. It is widely used in the production of mid-range and high-end knives, including handmade knives and cutting tools.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
