Boker Plus MEK Folding Knife

A EDC (Every Day Carry) folding knife engineered with a slim, lightweight profile, ensuring comfortable and discreet carry throughout the day. Featuring a blend of classic aesthetics and contemporary materials, the model is ideal for daily tasks and equally dependable for outdoor expeditions.

Blade made of Nitro-V steel, jimping where the thumb rests

The Drop-Point blade is crafted from Nitro-V stainless steel, an enhanced alloy based on AEB-L steel. The integration of nitrogen and vanadium provides exceptional strength, hardness, and resistance to corrosion. Featuring a satin finish, the blade utilizes a flat grind, ensuring excellent cutting performance as well as optimal durability. For improved blade control during precise tasks, jimping (textured notches) is positioned along the spine where the thumb naturally rests.

Stainless steel handle scales, finger notch

The knife handle features scales constructed from 2Cr13 stainless steel. The overall design has been ergonomically contoured to ensure a reliable and secure grip in any situation. For added convenience, a double-sided large notch beneath the fingernail facilitates easy operation of the knife.

Back Lock, deep-carry spring clip

When opened, the blade is secured by a Back Lock mechanism, providing reliable safety during operation. Featuring a robust steel deep-carry clip with four-position adjustability, the knife offers versatile and secure attachment to a belt or pocket edge for easy carry.

2Cr13Mov (2Cr13) feature
2Cr13Mov (2Cr13)
2Cr13MoV (2Cr13) is a low-carbon stainless steel, which is an improved version of 2Cr13 (20Cr13) steel thanks to the addition of molybdenum and vanadium, which increase its resistance to wear and moisture. Due to its properties, it can be considered equivalent to American AISI 420 steel, especially its 420J2 variant. It contains approximately 0.2% carbon and approximately 13% chromium, which ensures good moisture resistance and ease of processing, while the addition of molybdenum and vanadium improves cutting edge stability and structural durability. After hardening, it achieves a hardness of 50-54 HRC, combining moderate hardness with high rust resistance and simple maintenance. The steel is used in kitchen knives, hunting knives, and folding knives (EDC).
Nitro-V feature
Nitro-V
Nitro-V is a modern martensitic stainless steel developed by New Jersey Steel Baron in cooperation with Buderus Steel. It is based on AEB-L steel, enriched with nitrogen (approx. 0.11%) and vanadium (up to 0.1%), which significantly improves corrosion resistance, impact strength, and edge durability. Carbon (0.68%) provides good hardness and chromium (approx. 13%) is responsible for stainlessness, making the steel resistant to moisture and acidic environments. After hardening, Nitro-V achieves a hardness of 58-63 HRC, offering a good combination of cutting aggression, toughness, and ease of re-sharpening. This steel is used in EDC, kitchen, and outdoor knives.

An interesting knife, large and flat, which makes it comfortable to carry despite its size. Good build quality, definitely worth testing. It gives the impression of being solid because of its all-metal construction.
